Super 8 Fond Du Lac, Fond du Lac

This is the only time I have ever had a hotel try to hustle me for even more money at checkout. We were there a couple of days after EAA, so their rates were back to just regular overpriced. However, at checkout the clerk informed me that I owed them an additional $95 on a $39 value room I was already paying $83 for. They told me that was standard rate during EAA. Which had ended 2 days ago. They had already charged my card the additional money and told me that if I wanted a refund of the charge over our agreed on price I would have to to challenge the charge through my Credit Card Company. Visitors to Fond du Lac beware that just about every hotel motel in town advertise and even quote you a regular seasonal rate during EAA and then when you get there they will surprise you with anywhere from a $100 to $250 surcharge at check-in that they didn't tell you about when you made the reservation. In fact, at this particular hotel during the convention I have even seen the clerk auction the last room to the highest bidder in the hotel lobby! Room was filthy, and sheets had obviously not been washed since before the convention. The toilet hadn't even been flushed between guests! Possibly the worst hotel experience ever.
