Royal Yacht Club Resort, Dunedin

After checking out our first room and settling on a second room, I was still dissatisfied. Paying $100/night for a hotel on the water, I was amazed to find large cockroaches on the wall and in the tub; one was alive. Several smaller insects were crawling around as well. The smoking room smelled musty and the linens were worn. This hotel has great potential, but definitely needs a serious effort put into renovations.

On a positive note, the bar and restaurant were reasonable with a great view and friendly wait staff. Also, after complaining about the rooms, the hotel did discount our stay.
