Lovely B&B...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/11
I loved this quaint B&B. From our beautiful room and how we were treated to the delicious breakfasts! I would recommend this lovely place to anyone and everyone! And especially family and friends. The management was especially kind and helpful. There was not one thing I did not like!

BEWARE -- HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT / OWNER
By jenniferr, 5/4/10
Can I give this awful place 0 stars? Crappy management / owner, who did not honor a booked and confirmed and printed-out reservation, and worse, who couldn't care less. After fighting through 3 hours of traffic just to get there on a Friday night, we were rudely and unflinchingly lied to by the owner -- through the poor front desk clerk who felt horrible -- "we lost your reservation because we 'changed our computer systems,' yes it is our fault, but we are fully booked, you're gonna have to go find another place to stay, tough luck." The owner refused to tell us herself, and had the poor sweet front desk clerk literally sweating while doing her dirty work. The irony of the whole thing is that we had friends already staying there, or coming there the next day for a wedding, PER OUR RECOMMENDATION. And as it turned out, everything everywhere else was booked; we were left to our own devices to drive all over an unfamiliar town to find another place to stay, and the owner refused to at least pay for our new accomodations. This is not how professionals and paying customers should be treated, and not how one runs a business that's SUPPOSED to be service-oriented. This is called hospitality? Super-stressful nightmare when all were supposed to do was relax and unwind

Wonderful Romantic Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/08
My wife and I spent three days and two nights on our honeymoon in March of 2005. It was very romantic close too the beach as we had a picnic included in our package. We had the pleasure of meeting Mable the owner whom is one of the nicest and warmest people you could ever meet. As she and my wife discussed the different plants on the property she offered to give my wife a couple of cal lilies which are currently doing very well in our garden. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast for everyone looking to return that spark in your relationship!!!

Like: The service, the rooms, the bed, the cleanliness, gourmet breakfast delivered to our room. Closed to the beach. Dislike : its closed to the freeway and the railroad tracks, i did hear the train honking in the afternoon but good thing not during nighttime.

Cant wait to come back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
My husband and I arrived in Summerland on Sunday 11/11/07. It was very cloudy and cold. When we checked in to our room it was so a pleasant surprise. The room was emaculate. The young woman at the front desk to us to our room, she showed us hoe to lite the fire, work the jacuzzi tub, showed us the spa and explained to us the times for breakfast, evening reception and nightly desserts. The room had a beautiful corner fireplace, huge king size canopy bed with a down comforter and pillows, a private patio with a view of the ocean, 2 warm soft bath robes hanging on the bathroom door, soft music playing and fresh flowers on the desk. Such attention to detail. The breakfast was wonderful every morning, the chef was very profesional. Try not to miss the evening reception with the wine and cheese and crackers plus other wondrful goodies. Oh and the nightly desserts with coffee, tea or hot chocolate, perfect way to end your day before you head to your room. My husband and I will return here every year. Our 30th anniversary that we spent here made us feel like we were on our honeymoon. I guess it is the attention to detail, the warm friendly staff, beautiful view, and one of the most warm and inviting rooms we have ever stayed in. Our compliments to the staff. See you next year.

Wonderful B&B
By Donna, 7/10/06
What a wonderful 3 days at this Inn. The staff was so friendly and helpful! Beautiful rooms, well equiped. Yummy breakfast by the house chef. The hiway was loud in the room but we left the Air Conditioner on and it was fine. Never heard another guest. Great little town Summerland, and very close to Santa Babara. You must try the Fish House in SB. The best meals ever! I would recommend this Inn and will stay there again.

Horrible experience
By Homa, 6/6/06
I made a reservation on the phone and two days later they backed out of their agreement. After bunch of lies they gave me, I cancelled my reservation and had to look for a different hotel last minute. I will never ever do business with them. Terrible customer service. These people lack integrity and ethics. Due to last minute cancelation I ended up with a hotel double the price because everything else was taken!! Never again

Relaxing get-away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/05
What we liked: The charming rooms, gourmet breakfast, excellent cleaning service, nice turn-down in the evening (complete with chocolates) little extras in the room (bottled water, sparkling cider, flowers, Bath & Body products), friendly hotel service, 10 minute drive to Santa Barbara, near fun antique stores. What we did not like: The Inn's location was on a busy road and about 100 yards from highway 101 and 125 yards from a railroad. The noise never bothered us during the day or evening, but don't bother using your're private balcony for breakfast, it's too noisy. Overall - we had a wonderful 20th anniversary trip and enjoyed our stay at the Inn!

Sleazy business
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/18/05
The Inn on Summerhill cancelled our reservation without notifying us. We had a reservation made over 2 months early through Expedia. The Inn cancelled this reservation without notifying us or Expedia. We found out a night before our expected stay when we called to confirm. This joint ripped us off of our anniversery weekend we had planned well in advance.
