Stay Somewhere Else. Seriously.
By ha2010, 7/23/10
Huge Disappointment. Very long lines at check in. Only 2 check in clerks working with 100+ guests waiting in line. Called customer service number while waiting in line. Spoke with the manager and asked him specifically if HE could assist with the check in. I was told no and that he was working on other things. He never came to help. Took an hour and 15 minutes to check in. AC was off in the room when we arrived. It was around 118 degrees that evening. The room was like a sauna. Turned on AC and went out for the evening to get out of the hot room. When we arrived several hours later, the room was still hot. Called housekeeping and was told someome would be there shortly to look at the AC. Well into the night when we were sleeping someone did wake us to change the filter. It was completely filled and dirty. We did note some cooler air in the next few hours. However, we had to keep our shades drawn the entire trip and the hall was always cooler than our room. Very dirty pool with extreme loud music playing from speakers. I was told that they were "blown" and that is why the music sounded if it was coming from a radio station that could not come in clearly. The waitress at the pool bar told us this and said that if she went to get someone or tell someone of this, no one would do anything about it any way. Nice. Very very overcrowded and dirty pool area. Smelled badly in rooms, casino and hallways. No one seemed to care about anything. The employees seemed like tired robots. No one even really looked at us when we were speaking with them. Don't waste your time or money. We made a poor choice staying here. Was told that it used to be better before new ownership in the last 2 years. We were told that customer service is of no importance to new management. It clearly reflected in the actions of the staff. I heard others refer to TI as Ghetto Island. That should speak for itself.

Don't visit if not staying there
By MaryAnn, 1/25/08
I took my son to Las Vegas for the first time. We were having a nice time until we got to TI. We wanted to see the "free show" they advertise. We got there a bit early so decided to browse the gift shops. The gift shop staff never mentioned that the door we came in next to the gift shop would be practically barracaded off by staff security before the show. We exited the gift shop and it was now roped off with a guy and lady standing behind the cordoned off area telling people they could not go out the door unless they were hotel guests with a room key. There was a lady who had gone out with her husband, came back in for something and they refused to let her back on the deck because she could not present a room key. I tried to explain that no one had told us we could not go out there and now we were virtually stuck there. Why are they advertising a "free show" and then denying people access? The security guard was rude and insulting and when I asked to speak with a manager he refused to call one. When I found another security person and asked for a manager he also got rude and disrespectful. When we got back to MGM and I spoke to one of their customer service people they called over to TI and got a manager on the phone. I told him what happened and he said that he was sorry that happened and if he had known he would have "made it right". I am not sure what that was supposed to mean. He said that they would find out who the staff involved in the incident were and reprimand them. The staff person at MGM was so offended by what happened to me that she gave me an MGM keychain and told me she was so sorry that I was treated like that. SAD really that they have such rude and disrespectful staff.

Fond memories
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/07
The hospitality at Tropicana is great! It's a comfortable place -- a Las Vegas mainstay. I like the ambiance and the rooms and the overall feel.

sorry I stayed, they are just rude
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/06
sorry, but i travel a lot, live in hawaii and stay at five star hotels... Yes, i gamble a lot too! won 1,200 at ti and another 4,000 at mgm! But my best winnings during my stay in las vegas was at the new resort red rock won over 13,000.00, yes the irs loves me! however, i took two rooms at ti on the 23 of october, paid full price 179.00 (rooms were 179.00 plus per night) didn't book through net! my story is this, believe it or not, your choice... I'm really not a snob, came from poor to a good living, but i'd tell you not to stay at ti, the service is losy, managers are just plain rude, and if you by chance want a drink, well expect to pay full price wherever you go in the casino! in fact after my rude bar tender, i insisted paying full price at any bar i went to after that!!! It's a motel six that charges prices over what they are worth! believe me i will never stay there again and i suggest you send this to as many people as you can, i know i am!!!!!!!~!! at any rate if you're still listening/reading, i paid full price for rooms... Well had to order wash cloths for our room and a do not disturbe sign too! this was not the real problem (never happens in a five/four or even three star hotel) yet had to ask for these items (tip, yup you bet, i'm not cheap), then, went to gambeling floor to play some slots and have fun, (i did win 1200.00 bucks in the casino and another 4,000 plus from their sister company, so my complaint is not that i didn't win

Not a Hotel worth it is expected to be.
By Mohinder C, 1/4/06
There is no facility for coffee or tea in the morning. No body is going to pay for a small service a lot of money. Everybody wants to be easy at the hotel from going bed to get up. I could not find any option to book two rooms in same name on internet except a separate booking.

Stay and break a leg
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/5/05
For my first time in Vegas, I wanted the best my money could buy. I got the penthouse suite for a long three-day weekend. On the second morning, I slipped on a drink that spilled in the casino and broke that little bone beneath my knee cap. Management got security as protocol to make sure the situation was contained. I was finally wheelchaired to my room and was CHARGED a wheelchair fee. We had to leave immediately to go to my personal physician, and I was greeted with a phone from management said they feel that I slipped on my own and I had to sue to see the video. THIS is the service you can expect.

I will never recommend or go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/07
I did not like the serivece at all. I spend $500.00 dollars in 2 hours and I ask for a drink that never got there, later I went out with my family to see the show, and the secureity out side, where very rude, they were talking about me and my family which i though it was very innapropiate while i was there, and over all when they told me that i had to move inside of the rope, their tone was very bad and all people there notice that the way he talk to me was very bad. so I took my family and leave before seeing the show. I felt offended and very dissapointed of that casino and the treatment they give me and my family. I feel I would never go badk recomended or take any of my family back again, I prefer to spend my money somewhere else,

Never stay at the TI !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/08
My entire family stayed here thinking it would be family oriented. At night a very seedy ugly crowd hangs there. The hotel service people and security were indifferent about customer service. They treat people like a commodity, not customers. Spend your time and money someplace who cares about your repeat service.
