No Treasure
By Jacinta, 02/01/10
TI was OK but we won't be going back. TI isn't the only hotel on the strip to charge a hidden mandatory resort fee, but at over $22 per day, it's one of the higher ones, especially considering that it doesn't get you anything of value... free internet? yeah but don't bother looking for a mouse or mousepad, instead you'll get to try navigating around with the arrow keys and the hyper sensitive toggle on the keyboard. It took me half an hour to check email! Free newspaper? sure, if you can find the place where you have to go and get it. Swimming pool? Apparently fairly decent but it was closed when we were there so our only option was to hire a taxi in our bathing suits and go to the Trump hotel and they would let us swim in their pool! Our room was pretty basic as well. I don't know if it's standard at other Strip hotels as well, but TI rooms don't have some of the basic things you'd get in a 3 star hotel elsewhere. Phonebook? No. coffee? Nope. coffee pot? Nadda. kettle, fridge, or microwave? keep dreaming. Every room is however equipped with a toilet AND a bed. Ours even had a sink and a shower. The best thing about TI was the helpful Bell Desk which gave us info on things to do away from the hotel.

Hidden Fees and Over Charge
By toi, 01/29/10
I came to Vegas to get married and stayed at Treasure Island before we could check in we had to pay the 22.40 a night for fees such as FREE INTERNET once we were in the room I called to find out about how to utilize the Internet and was told I would not be charged due to me paying this fee for 3 days! Well that was a lie once I returned home Treasure Island OVER charged my account for the internet plus the fee per day that I had already paid for they caused my account to go in over draft and was rude when I asked them to pay it back! Due to this DUMB charge it caused me over $300 to fix! While staying there it was dog crap in the hall ways and we only received one wash cloth! lucky for me I brought my own! The people there were rude and when we complained they looked at us like we were stupid for staying there well they were RIGHT! I suggest that if you go make sure you use cash because when they feel like charging you they will

Best value in the best part of The Strip
By Dallas, 12/25/09
TI is an amazing value in the most desirable part of The Strip. Surrounded on all sides by Wynn/Encore ($$$$), Venetian/Palazzo ($$$), Mirage ($$-$$$) and Fashion Show Mall ($$-$$$), TI offers rooms that are nearly as nice as its fancier neighbors, entertainment and dining options that fit right in stride and, in some cases complement its more ambitious neighbors and easy accessibility to them all, at a fraction of their prices. TI's only compromise is its small and low energy casino area and fewer options for dining on the property itself, relying on its proximity to the aforementioned neighbors. The hotel is clean, well decorated and pleasant smelling throughout. The rooms are slightly small by neighbor standards, but very comfortable. Bathrooms are large and finished in marble. The carpeting, draperies, desk, chaise lounge, integrated TV (flat screen), lighting and cabinetry are all very nicely designed/selected to give the room a warm, yet minimalist and upscale appearance. And the bedding is just fantastic. Crisp, clean sheets. Soft, pillow-top mattress. Big fluffy pillows. This is no budget accommodation, despite the low price. Its location keeps visitors comfortably away from the higher-trafficked parts of The Strip to the south, where there are more drunks, prostitutes and porn card slappers. But don't worry, they're just a 5-minute walk away if you want that. The older, seedier part of The Strip, to the north is about a 7-8 minute walk in the opposite direction, though there is a lot of construction going on up there and the $5.99 steak dinners and smoky lounges are becoming a thing of the past. The staff at TI is courteous and efficient, if not overly friendly. They do their job well -- particularly housekeeping. I never heard them in the halls. The room was always cleaned to high standards when I returned at night. On the one Sunday morning I slept in really late and hung the "Shhh..." card on the door, there was not a peep outside. Instead, they called at about noon and asked what time I would like the room cleaned. They even said I could make it "any time I like". Nice. In short, TI is not a place you go and never leave the property. I like to think of it as the third tower of The Venetian, which really is a place you could stay on-property for an entire weekend. You get a convenient sky bridge to that place (which is, itself connected to Wynn by a walkway). Another bridge conveniently connects TI to Fashion Show Mall. There's even a tram to The Mirage. So, once you've exhausted the nice, but few options at TI, you can easily establish it as your affordable home base for exploring the most luxurious part of The Strip,

WE LOVE TREASURE ISLAND
By SHEILA, 12/13/09
Our whole family goes a least 2 to 3 times a year to Vegas and we always stay at TI. Although we have tried other Hotels, we still keep coming back to TI. Being right in the center of the strip, makes it easy to come and go though out the day & night. We do a lot of sight seeing, shopping, etc. Treasure Island is a very sophisticated resort, yet family friendly. My boys love staying at TI and can't wait to go back. That says it all.

Read the "Fine" Print Before Booking !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/09
Pros: Location is choice for anyone seeking a Vegas experience. Staff is on par with service delivered to guests - or as much as any minimum wage paying job would include. Cons: Hidden Resort Fee of $20 per day. What does this mean? For those of you booking a reservation either by way of Web travel sites (expedia, travelocity, etc.) or direct reservation through TI, you'll receive a room quote. Mine was $51.75 per night for visitation Mon-Wed. With tax and hotel service charges, the bill should come out around $110.00; however, the hidden resort fee of $20 per day raises the bill to $150.00. Oh, but wait - then there's tax on that resort fee. So the final bill, just for a room, goes from a quote of $110.00 to $160.00 based on hidden charges. The guest is forced to pay this fee and is unable to check-in until this fee is collected. The general ideology from now on is that there is "no way in hell" I will be returning to this property in the future, based solely on this business practice. The recommendation is choose a hotel that doesn't operate this way (MGM, Rio, Paris, Trop, etc.), there's a ton of them.

Treasure Island - Las Vegas Strip
By janis, 11/29/09
I agree with George about the surcharge. I made a reservation through Orbitz. After my card was charged the acknowledgement in teensy print mentioned a surcharge. On check-in I was told about the mandatory surcharge and handed a piece of paper was handed to me that listed the charges. I couldn't walk away because the rooms were prepaid by that point through Orbitz. This is a very unfair and deceptive business practice. This charge should be enumerated up front. I would never stay at a hotel that charged me to use things I would not ordinarily use. A charge for a newspaper that you pick up at a newsstand that no one could locate, a charge for using the phone for local calls and toll free call. Any traveler uses their cell phone for calls so those are moot charges. We are also charged for the Fitness Center. Now I do not go to the strip to exercise. I do plenty of walking there and do not need to use the treadmill. I have other things I can do. The staff was nice and the rooms were lovely. However I will not pay for what I do not need to use. When the Las Vegas economy is in a downturn the last thing they need to do is something else that is dishonest and deceptive. I probably choose to be stolen from when I use the slot machines but I don't choose to be stolen from when I sleep.

Hidden, Mandatory surcharge - Caveat Emptor!
By GeorgeS, 11/26/09
I have been coming to Treasure Island for years. I like the location in the middle of the strip. The rooms, casino, restaurants, bars, etc. are all fine. And the staff are generally great. But I will not be coming back. They have instituted a mandatory $22.40 per room per day charge, hidden in the fine print of your acknowledgment. It covers, for example, use of the room telephone... If they made this charge known, up front, I would be ok with it (though I might choose to stay elsewhere). But, unless you're in the habit of reading all the fine print, you won't find out until your room bill appears. These "amenities" should be part of the room rate. I find this hidden charge insulting and I would not be surprised to find it is illegal. I'm very sorry they've decided to do this, but I won't do business with them. Caveat Emptor!

Excellent Hotel, Excellent Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/09
My wife and I visited Las Vegas in October. It was an excellent experience. We stayed in the deluxe room which had an awesome view of the strip. The rooms were very clean and the beds and pillows were the the most comfortable that we had ever had in a hotel room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gladly printed out our boarding passes for us prior to our departure. The only negative thing I could say about the visit was the in room television access internet. Since I knew that they had internet access in the room I didn't bother bringing my laptop for checking email as we were on vacation and would only need the internet on a couple of occasions. Their in room tv access internet was very slow and poor. The cost for the internet access is $9.99 per day. To make a long story short, we purchased the internet for three days during our stay and were able to send one e-mail and check the weather network once and it kept locking up the rest of the time. We would definitely stay at Treasure Island again and would most certainly recommend it to our friends.
