Pine Lodge, Whitefish

The staff here will lie to you, be rude, and finally blow you off completely. They enjoy promising lots and making you pay for that, only to turn around an give you a completely different, lesser room. Customer service has obviously gone out the window. Not to mention the bug infested room we finally stayed in. If your path takes you through Whitefish, if you want to have a good trip, stay way from the Pine Lodge.

The manner in which the manager of this facility conducts himself is entirely inappropriate. The rooms are decent, if you happen to be fortunate enough to get a room overlooking the river. (And when they say 'river' they mean the 1.5 feet deep Whitefish river that runs so slow you can walk though it in the summer time. It is also very green, and very smelly when it gets hot). The Pine Lodge has a nasty habit of booking you into a room and then suddenly changing your room location/number to an entirely different side of the hotel so that they may fit in more people at your expense. If you happen to ask for a room overlooking the river, there is a good chance you will be promised one... and about a 50/50 chance you still won't get one. I will admit there are a few good souls on their staff list -- but the majority of the staff members including the manager care little to nothing about customer satisfaction. The owner of the Pine Lodge is a hot shot property manager that has a ton of other buildings to manage, so the upkeep of the Pine Lodge isn't exactly priority. All and all, if you choose to spend your money here, don't expect to be wow-ed. This is a decent facility, but if you cherish customer satisfaction, and honesty/integrity from the staff -- look some place else.

I would like to ask that whomever, updates or edits the reviews on this facility, would double check the dates on the comments, some of these are 2 and up to 6 years old. To me that doesn't seem fair to these establishments, because of the huge turnover there are, especially in a small town like Whitefish. So to be fair to potential new guests of our establisment It would only seem fair that someone purges older comments- good and bad from your site

This place was WONDERFUL! Breakfast was good, rooms were big, beds were very comfy, wonderful views, the best pool ever AND THE BEST STAFF IN THE WORLD! This is the BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!!!

My family and I travel to Whitefish several times every year. We love to visit Glacier park and the small town feel that Whitefish still has. We have stayed at a few different places, but we always come back to the Pine Lodge. Their rooms are very comfortable and the few times we have had an issue they were resolved with a quick call to the front desk. Our children love the indoor and outdoor pools. The swim channel is great and they keep the pool heated year round. We have even swam outside while it was snowing. The kids loved it. We were extremely excited when they installed wireless internet through out the building. Reception is great and the speed is great. I have read some of these reviews and I felt compelled to tell of my own consistantly great experiences with the Pine Lodge. I'm sorry these people may have had a bad experience, but ours have always been great.

I have travelled extensively and this staff consists of the rudest people I have ever encountered. They overcharged our Visa and when I called to get some assistance, I was told that 'we have your money, what are you going to do'. Billing errors can and do happen, but one would expect that hotel staff would be trained to assist and not be rude - this was not just one person but all four people who I contacted at this hotel. When I politely ask for help, I expect to get it, now Visa is looking into this for me. If you do stay here, be sure to check your statement!

We came during ski season in March and the location was great for the teenage kids since the free local ski bus stopped across the street. Our yougest enjoyed the indoor-outdoor pool and hot tub. The carpet looked like it could use a good cleaning, but all in all, it was a good deal for the price.

The room was adequate, although it certainly could have used some real cleaning. This was off-season and very slow. This fact made it difficult to understand the room price. The most negative aspect of the stay was the amazing unfriendliness and sometimes downright hostility of the staff. At check-in, the �clerk� barely acknowledged our presence and simply shoved the sign-in sheet across the counter without a word. During our week stay only one time did any staff member even acknowledge our existence. Also, their web-site states that there is high speed Internet Connection available in the main lodge. This is untrue. There is, on occasion, connection in the lobby; however, the connection is slow and very erratic. The entire property would benefit greatly from some serious cleaning, painting and freshening. For what you receive and for how you are treated this property is most definitely overpriced.

The desk clerk was not accommodating us as guests at all & he was not willing to fix a toilet in our room -- nor did he give us the room that was promised with a balcony when I booked reservation - It could have been a good stay --- however he ruined it.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon actually; after we realized our original booking was not "for us." Pine Lodge was affordable and the furniture inside the room (suite) was BEAUTIFUL! It gave a cabin feel in a hotel setting. AND the ceiling was in pine or looked like pine, absolutely beautiful and spacious. :-) We stayed in spring of 2004 :-)
