Rude Service
By ,
My fiance and I were looking for a place where we can get married, as for the looks of the pictures, the place is beautiful... and the site states that it was a beautful place to have your wedding in. I called today and the person who answered the phone laughed and said, "we dont have wedding packages... I've never even heard of that here. So I asked for the marketing manager and there was none as she says... she suggests talkign to the manager instead but there was no manager around... she spoke to me as If I didn't do my research and I didn't know what I was talking about ... instead she insisted she goes into the website her self and make sure there was something on there about a wedding... it was very unprofessional and it is humiliating not for myself but for her and the hotel. Maybe they should hire someone who knows a bit more about the grounds and such. I was very irritated. I think I am okay going without this hotel and instead finding one with friendly and knowlegeable staff. I would never go to this place.

New Favorite Place!
By ,
This hotel (and others in the Pacifica chain) could not be better. It's quaint and picturesque with thoroughly modern amenities, steps away from the beach and extraordinarily fine dining. The breakfast included fresh-squoze juice and was excellent. Some rooms are pet-friendly. If you shop different sites or call them directly, rates are beyond reasonable (do not go for the "rack" rate, we saved 50% over that, paying only $150/nt for an ocean-view suite). The grounds are lovely, the staff is beyond accomodating. We spent two nights there last week, and could find nothing to complain about - and I'm a professional complainer! A thoroughly wonderful establishment, I'd recommend it to anyone.

TOO MANY CHOICES TO STAY HERE AGAIN
By ,
Of course the location is wonderful, we stayed in the "Honeymoon Suite" where upon check-in we notified the front desk that this room and especially the walls were not clean and were met what amounted to a shrug. The accomodations did not justify the price. Too many choices to stay here again

Where's the value?
By ,
My expectations were a bit higher than this place delivered. Upon check-in, they gave me a warm cookie and made such a big deal out of it like I was 8 years old - very odd. Room was a bit on the small side, and smelled like urine in one of the corners. When using the pool, they insist you use towels from the office, but there was no one to be found when I went to get them. I ended up scrounging around in the office to get them myself. The place is situated fairly close to the road, so you can hear the traffic at night. The get-it-yourself breakfast in the morning was okay. Upon checkout, they gave me a $50-off certificate for my next stay which I gave to someone else. At the time, this was the only place I could find that had accommodations for more than 2 people (we had 3) in one room. Not a bad experience, just not great enough to get me to stay again.

A Beautiful View
By ,
We just returned from our trip to the California coast. We arrived to Cambria and knew the choice spots to stay were on Moonstone Drive. We decided on Fog Catcher's Inn because they had a room with a kingsized bed facing the ocean. We were very pleased with the room. We opened our window and could hear the ocean waves which made for a wonderful sleep. Windows spread across the entire front part of the room so we had a wonderful view of the ocean. The bed was soooo comfortable and the room also had wireless internet which was wonderful because we both had to access our email. Breakfast is served buffet style in a dining room on the facility. Lots of good stuff to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place and hope I will get to return there one day. P.S. Wonderful restaurants nearby and a pool for the summer. Walk across a 2 lane small street to the beach! F.F. Washington, DC

Staff in a fog!
By ,
The location was fabulous. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. However, the staff was unfriendly, at best, and downright rude when approached with the simplest of questions or requests. Wouldn't stay here again as there are plenty of other choices on Moonstone Beach Drive.

I wish I were back there now
By ,
04/07/06 - This was our third time staying at the Fog Catcher, and as always it was lovely. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and charming. You can not beat the fireplace in the room, ocean view directly across the street, well maintained pool and spa, cookies at 3:00pm and a great breakfast. The rooms are very reasonable priced and we will definitely be back. The only setback was dinner at Brambles. We ordered a prime rib dinner and it was terrible. Next time we will skip the dinner package and check out one of the highly recommended restaurants in town like the Black Cat or Robins. We did notice that there were many other young couples visiting the town, which was great. We love Cambria and have always had a relaxing time here. Do not miss Tour #2 at Hearst Castle. It was absolutely amazing. I also recommend Arnie's ATV Rentals in Pismo Beach. We had a blast!

Undistubed Beauty
By ,
We have stayed at the Fog Catcher many times, always returning due to its comfort, beauty, and lovely people. During the course of 10 years we have stayed at many of the places on Moonstone. We love the Fog Catcher and have had many of our friends stay here. They have always returned stating they loved it also.
