I dont understand all the great reviews. I just returned from this resort on Monday and it was horrible. The food was basically the same everyday with a different sauce. The employees were very rude unless you gave them some cash on the side. On top of that, everywhere I went within the resort, there was someone trying to sell me some of their magic jamaican "ganja". Maybe thats why people had a great time at this resort. They were too stoned out of their mind to think straight. On top of that, my friends and I all booked the all inclusive package but somehow the resort "lost the papers" that stated that we purchased all inclusive and cut off some of our wrist bands. The rooms had ants, roaches, and the ceilings leaked at night when it rained. Horrible resort. Ohh, almost forgot. When we went out of the resort to eat because the food there was horrible, on our return to the resort, the guards didnt let us in because we had no bands. The same bands they took from us. Dudley was the only one with respect and that was our cab driver... Stay away. Contact me if you have questions....

Visited Point Village Nov 27 2006. Previous reviews were complementary. However, now the facts !!!!Reception, first impression, they need to know how to welcome guests and smile. Food, poor no real selection unless you wanted chicken every day. Drinks, no cocktail menu, and if you asked for a certain one they didn't know how to make it. No sunbeds at the pool,they had to move them to the beach as guests were complaining, still very few on the beach. Result, completly empty pool. Only managed to get a change of beach towels on the 5th day. Had to ask every day for towels in the room. No plugs in sinks. Overall the room was very poor standard. Entertainment, take a pack of cards as you will enjoy it more. Everyone was walking out. Where are these reviews coming from?. We were not the only guests dissapointed during our stay. We managed to get out after a week, moved to a RIU resort, then the holiday started. We cried with joy once we left. What a nightmare.

I have stayed at point village on many occasions and think it is an ok resort I do think its a little overpriced though when compared to the Riu which isnt much more expensive and in a totally different league. The best thing are the grounds in which the hotel is set, very lush and well kept. The food is very repetitive and boring if you like chicken you will be fine. The salads at lunchtime are very nice though and to be honest I think the lunchtime menu is better than the dinner menu. Drinks are good and arent watered down. Entertainment is very limited and sometimes quite embarrassing. The entertainment staff can also be a bit over friendly if you're single females. The nightclub is a joke, very small and empty even the bartender had disappeared so the DJ was playin to himself. The location of the hotel is OK if you dont want to venture out of the hotel but if you do want to go into town a taxi is needed which becomes costly after a fortnight. The management offers very little for returning guests compared to other hotels where a room upgrade is often offered one reason for deciding to move on and try another hotel. The best room we had was on our first trip, although we enjoyed our stays here it was time to try something different the atmosphere was no longer the same and each visit became more disappointing. It served a purpose at the time but after stayin on the main beach this year point village sorry we have to say goodbye. Pity things changed.

i liked the friendly staff although the wedding co-ordinater had the hots for my husband to be haha. the rooms was lovely and food and everyone was friendly just wish the wedding co ordinater had took the man i was going to marry didnt want him anyway lol she was so lovely too my children age 9/11/16 was a little bored but we spent more time alone as their so called father took it as a singles holiday id love to visit again with my real man as you can tell we divorced 2 months after but have to say anyone can fool themselves its right to marry in a gorgous place with everyone smilling and making your day thankyou point village for making me wedding day great shame the husband was a liar and kerry you was welcome to him told you that when i was there with him (paul) remember but your worth more than him xxxxx

We upgraded to get an ocean view-totally blocked by palm trees, queen be-we got 2 twins, and a bathtub-it had no drain stop. This was supposed to have been our honeymoon, it was not what we expected. It's also a 90 min drive from the airport where all you see it poverty and depressing sights. Except for the fact that we got to enjoy the sun and water, I don't feel it was worth the money.

had a good time but there is a great shortage of sun beds and needs a change of enterainment, if your there for over a week then you will see the same things. the staff are extremly friendly and polite, overall a good hotel

This was my first all inclusive vacation only paid $800 for two people leaving Baltimore MD. Staff was very fun, did not spend much time in the room, me and boyfriend enjoyed the nightly and daily activities. We went back 3 years later with 5 friends. We were hassled a little more about buying weed but most likely because we were a big group. Make sure you go out on rock beds at night. The stars are endless, been to alot of places never seen a sky like that.

Four simple words... We love Point Village! I was introduced to the Point about 8 years ago and have returned ever since. We love everything about it.... the grounds are exquisite, the staff is fabulous, the hospitality is warm and welcoming. Granted, check-in takes a little while, but we now put on our suits when we arrive, go for a swim and have lunch..... then it's ready for check-in! We'll be back again this year (8th year) at the end of November for another fabulous vacation. Jan Huter/William Wilson Forest Park, IL USA

my husband and I got married at point village. we loved it. everyone there made it so welcoming there. bar tenders were fun. love the rock pools!!!!! the employees made it fun for everyone traveling with us. awesome place!!!!! the second visit was great as well. if you like hotels for the rich and famous this is not the place to go. we stayed at the riu in ochio rios very nice place very fancy. although we had a great time we would have been happier at point village. smaller place. easier to meet people.
