Raintrees Club Regina Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta

The Westin Regina Resort in Puerto Vallarta was the best hotel in the city. It had a countless number of activities and great for families. The rooms were not as great as I thought they were going to be due to the fact that the flooring was very uncomfortable. It was made up of a cement texture with no area rug of carpeting what so ever. Each room is equipped with the heavenly bed which was very nice. Also a balcony is included with the heavenly shower. The food was great even though there was no All Inclusive plan offered. Everynight was a theme night buffet out by the pool which was great food. The pool was covered with hundreds of palm trees so the sun was being blocked to us which was a con. The beach was somewhat rocky and this is the best place to stay and has the best beach. Jet skiing and parasailing right on site. Each floor is open to the ground floor so when there is music playing you can somewhat hear it from your room. It has an open-air lobby which is beautiful but extremely humid when trying to check in. Guest Services where extremely kind but I expected more from them. Many Vacation companies would rate this a 5-star property which I would disagree with. I would say 3.5-4 stars because of the room and the maintinance of the property. The spa was nice but could have been nicer. Fitness center was nicer than I had thought it was going to be and the Tennis Courts were very kept-up. Location was very close to the airport yet moderatly located to downtown. It was about 5 US Dollars for a cab to downtown which was not bad at all. The Westin is located in Marina Vallarta which is a beautiful part of Vallarta. If I would ever go back this would be the place to stay. Hope this helps:) Samuel

The Westin Resort & Spa, The name says it all. If you are getting married the pilars are beutifull at this hotel it feels as if you are in some other long forgotten place or take a short stroll and you are at the ocean watching the waves crash in. Take a few more steps and you are watching the baby turtles. If you want a drink get in the pool yes the pool and order your drink. The pool is like nothing you have ever seen. All this is on the grounds of the Westin and so much more. If you want food, stay at the hotel or take a short stroll across the street down the road a few blocks you can get all the food you want, and if you like coffee and who doesnt especially if you are from Seattle there is a small coffee shop with the owner from Seattle you can get your coffee and bagel just the way you are used to. Rent a car or take a bus (a must do if you have never done so before truly an experience of a lifetime.) So many shops to browse through so many beutiful buildings to see. When it is time for bed sink into your soft lushes bed at the Westin truly feels as if you are floating on air. Room service, massages, great food great relaxation, or party all you want at the Westin or get out and explore Puerto Vallarta, interesting people, beutifull waters fabulous shops. Its all there at The Westin Resort & Spa in beutifull Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

We loved the beautiful colors, as soon as you drive up, you know you made a great choice. It's colorful lobby, restaurant, gallery all make you feel far from home and loving it. The pools are endless and the restraunt KIKI on the beach compares to none, as you dine on beach beds and watch the stars. Checking out was sooo sad.

This was a beautiful hotel! My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. The grounds were just gorgeous, with hundreds of palm trees and several pools to choose from. The beach was small but served the purpose. The location was excellent, because we walked to the marina for breakfast and dinner almost every night. The bus into the city was like 40 cents per person. The room was very nice, definitely ask for a high floor so you can have a good view. The only complaint we had was our air conditioner leaked and dripped on the floor almost every night. There were no open rooms to move us too. Overall the vacation was wonderful and we would absolutely go back!!

Loved the restaurants, the food was not even that bad! The waitors were excellent. Nikki Beach restaurant was really nice.. we loved the HUGE pillows on the beach that you could lounge on and eat lunch.. soak up some sun or have them put an umbrella over you so you can just enjoy the view. We had massages.. which were excellent! Our only complaint has NOTHING to do with the hotel..if you are on the beach.. be prepared to be hounded by the local sales people. We only went to the beach once.. and for only a few minutes before we resided to the pool. The sales people were really annoying. Shopping and swim with dolphins tour offered through tvacation packages were REALLY great.. :) LOVE THE HEAVENLY BED and the bathroom!

We went to the Westin for our honeymoon and were completely blown away by the service, proximity to the marina and the room itself. We will definately be going back to P.V. and will be staying at this resort with out a doubt. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The Good - Our room was beautiful, we had an extremely comfortable room and bedding, great marble bathroom with a huge shower and a beautiful view of the ocean in the front and the marina in the back. The front desk was very polite and helpful with money exchanges. The pool waitstaff was extremely curtious, polite and quick. The pools were beautiful and there was plenty of seating. The hotel atmosphere was spacious, open and gorgous, the grounds were emaculate. The pool bathrooms were very clean. The food at the hotel was expensive but good. What I would expect to pay at a four star hotel. The Bad - Every night until 2:00 am you could hear loud techo/euro music from Club Nikki which is right next to the hotel. I can't believe no one thought of the hotels guest when they built this place and decided playing loud music until 2:00 am was a good idea. We had dinner one night at club Nikki and felt the wait staff took advantage of us and charged us for more than what we ordered. ALL four pools were croweded with children under the age of 7 and it was very loud the entire four days we were there, not to relaxing. The two hot tubs they had were never "hot" I was EXTREMELY unhappy with the people at the hotels information desk continually badgering us about time share stuff when we went to to get infomration. This was a total turnoff and did not reflect well on the Westin, probably one of the biggest reasons I will not stay at this hotel again. Other general information - The other reason I will not stay at this hotel again is the minute you walk out of the hotel not five steps and you are badgered by time share men. EVERYTIME we said no, and they still followed us up and down the street. This is not an enjoyable experience. The Marina close to the hotel is the only other place to eat that is close and the people there are outside of the resturant aggressively trying to get you to eat at their restuarant. I found this about annoying as the time share people. The hotel is located pretty far from the town so next time we will stay closer to the downtown area, although I can safely say it will be a while before I go back to Mexico.

The property is beautiful and our room was great. Be sure to ask for a room on the 7th floor or above to get the ocean view. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine in our room on the first day. Everyone was helpful from the front desk to the bellboy and conceirge. The workout facility and spa were terrific as was the restaurants and bars on the property. I went with friends and we were there to decompress and have a girlfriends weekend. If sunning is your thing, I highly recommend renting a perlago on the sand (like a personal open-air cabana,comes with great lounge chairs and curtains to block the sun)and let the waiters bring food and drink whenever you want. The resort is located in the marina, but the downtown hotspots/restaurants are only a $6 cab ride away. One word of caution: timeshares. There is a small section in the lobby that will try to sell you timeshares. It looks like it is affiliated with the hotel because it has an "Information" sign on the wall, but it is not. Steer clear, otherwise they may sucker you into a "short" breakfast presentation that could actually eat away at your precious vacation time. Other than that, we'll be back and plan to stay at the Westin again!

the hotel was beautiful. the gardens were exquisite. the atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. the staff was very friendly and very helpful. it was child friendly, which is a plus. thank you for the experience.
