Roslyn Claremont Hotel, Roslyn

You can hear everything from your hotel room. Good luck getting any sleep at this place. The eating area is in the middle of this very small hotel. Basically people are eating right outside your room. You can hear everything they are saying. It's horrible. Most rooms are right up against Old Northern and traffic is so loud.On top of all this, whenever someone shuts their hotel room door it sounds like they are inside your room. I came in on the red eye from the west coast and have yet to get any sleep-i'm going on my third night here!!!!

I was recently married at a nearby venue and I had blocked rooms for my guests a year in advance at The Roslyn Claremont. When my guests arrived at the hotel late after my wedding, my mother in law was told her reserved room was no longer available and she needed to go to a different hotel. Mind you...this is well after 1:00 in the morning. In addition, I had made welcome bags with snacks, etc for my guests upon their arrival. Most of my guests didn't even receive these bags when they checked in and those that did get them had things stolen out of them or HALF EATEN!!! This hotel was such a disappointment after such a beautiful wedding. Brides beware. Book a different hotel!!!!

I arranged my wedding and was married here last Summer, 2006. Very classy in a quiet, intimate, and very elegant way. A true boutique hotel in the european tradition. The experience was so wonderful, it would take more than this space to adequately rave about it - but, I'll try with this brief synopsis: The hotel itself is magnificent, and in a wonderful setting. The rooms are lovely. The king/bridal suite is exceptionally so. All staff, not just management, are top notch, deliver outstanding service, and anticipate your needs. The food is TO DIE FOR, even when made to serve 100 people at once. Five star quality in that quanity is outstanding and they truly achieved the impossible. As a bride, I felt completely taken care of before, during and after. The hotel's recommended wedding Officiant, photographer, flowers, and food exceeded all expectations. Also, having the out of town guest dinner the night before, as well as the wedding photographs, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all under one roof was the best decision of all - for the bridal party as well as the guests. Everyone is still talking about how it was the most elegant and warm wedding they'd attended, and choice of the Roslyn Claremont Hotel was the major factor. I have since stayed there twice and will continue to find excuses to stay there when I go to NY. It reminds me of The Claremont in Berkelely and the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, only on a much more intimate scale. Oh, the place is lovely, and you feel extremely pampered, even when you're not there to get married. What a find.

Excellent place! Very big rooms and the food was excellent and plentiful. You just can't beat the location on Long Island as it is so close to everything!
