Algiers Hotel, Las Vegas

I thought this hotel was no longer there and a vacant lot or replaced by a newer hotel? The year "visited" is not available... I worked there in the 60's. I was head bus boy / room service waiter. Jack Walsh was part owner with another lady and her son of which I have unfortunately forgotten their name. Long live the great memories of the Algiers Hotel.

The Algiers Hotel Casino had the best service. While it was old, the rooms were clean and spacious. Tommys steak house was a Las Vegas institution. Excellent food and they always remembered you. Only Bar in Vegas where then remembered what I drank every year I went there. The Algiers was turned down to make way for condos.

It is a while since I last stayed here, but as it is as old as the hills nothing can have changed. Rooms are quite large and clean(ish) but old... really old. Best thing is that you can find the reception desk in under 30 seconds and park your car within yards of your room. Oh... and its cheap!!
