Econo Lodge Malden, Malden

The location is right in a very busy area of Malden, but not very close to the highways. Thank goodness for GPS! It was kind of a sketchy neighborhood, not very pleasing to the eye. Staff was not very friendly or helpful. The whole place had a weird smell to it. The room was freezing when we checked in. The door to the bathroom did not latch at all. We had to let the shower run for almost 5 minutes before we got any hot water. The top of the TV had big melted spots. The room didn't have any conveniences provided (no hair dryer, coffee maker, extra pillow or towel). The continental breakfast consisted of old, cheap donuts, a couple pieces of bread that you could toast in the dirty toaster, horrible tasting coffee and juice, all laid out on a dirty counter in a cluttered little corner just off the lobby. We've stayed at Econo Lodges before, with the same accomodations, for just about the same price and have been very satisfied in the past. We didn't have high expectations for this place because it was a last minute thing, but we were still disappointed. Would not reccommend and will not revisit.

Well if you have to pick a hotel room last minute this one will do. When i arived i had to wait for 15 minutes before someone finally came to the front desk, I got to the room and it was very clean and the bath room was nice and spackling, but i asked for a non smoking room and the bed and sheets smelled of ciggarette. And they also call you to make sure your checking out right at or before 11. Overall if you have to stay there then its fine but dont expect greatness.

I loved there free wifi it was very good and Guy at desk helped us with directions and things to do in boston. they are very closed to subway station that helps a lot.

I loved the place! Me and my family stayed here for a couple of days and, all I can say is that it is very clean, comfortable and secure. There are 3 large double beds and tv with all the greatest channels. There is 1 bathroom, but it is very clean and it's better then 5 bathrooms. Breakfast in the morning is served in the office, really organized. And room service in the morning to get your room nice and sparkly is always at your door. 5 stars. I recommend staying here for everyone.

I have now stayed in the Econo Lodge 4 times and intend going back there again this year. Each time I go to Boston on a shopping trip I stay in the Lodge as it is convenient to get downtown and on the routes out of the city to go to the shopping outlets. The staff are great and when I telephoned at the end of last year to confirm a booking I have for November of this year, the receptionist remembered me, as had happened on a previous occasion. When I asked for the same room there was no issue. When I told my friends, who had come with me, they could not believe the price. It is such good value. What we paid for the four of us, they expected to pay each. A great result for having taken a chance on an area and hotel that I knew nothing about. I would highly recommend it for anyone who intends going to Boston shopping and going to the outlet centres, but only if you have a car as it is a bit outside of the city if you are depending on public transport (which I might add is just outside the door of the hotel).

The people there were very polite. The room was clean; AC worked well. I'd go there again, even when I am not a student any more. They forgot to do something I asked for (a little thing), and in return I got a discount. That was very nice. The only problem about the place is that it's about 3 miles from the nearest subway station, but you can take a bus (need to know the schedule, it does not come very often).
