Pick Another Hotel
We have been to several Hampton Inns, and loved them. The staff have always been exceptional and the stay lovely. This one, however, has changed our minds.
It was directly off the PA Turnpike, which was great. The bedding was comfortable and the room clean. However, I was in need of a refridge for my meds, and the one in the room did not work. The shower water remained in the tub for awhile, and the toilet has trouble flushing. I realize this appeared to be an older building, but, still. Plumbing, anyone? When we left the room for the day (our stay was the entire weekend), we returned to find the door had NOT been properly closed- it was ajar. Now, we were not worried about our things, but our personal safety. The room had been cleaned since we left, and I know how to shut a door. The desk clerk when we checked in was pleasant. When I checked out, there were many people milling about the desk, talking (staff). It took awhile for them to acknowledge me, and take my money. When I parked the car in the lot, we wanted to see it out our window. They had a "secure entrance" near where I parked- only, it did not work. I had to walk around the building to get in.
In conclusion, we have enjoyed these hotels before. We were taken aback by our stay here. They left the used writing pad of paper in the room, and the previous user had also commented on the bathroom, and the refridge, so, these problems were not addressed by staff. Great bedding, comfortable room, close to the Turnpike, great breakfast, but, it seemed like someone stopped trying at this hotel. I would not stay again.
