14 reviews for Four Points By Sheraton Darling Harbour Sydney, Sydney
Was a calming and beautiful experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/07
I found the hotel to be outwardly beautiful, and the rooms were amazing and exceptionally clean. The room were presented with a very sophisticated sytle, room service was quick, and found that the staff were exceptionally friendly and nice. Walking away from the Sheraton hotel in Sydney i felt relaxed, at peace with myself.

Recommended.

From the time we entered we were treated very well. The room was very comfortable. (A harbour view is essential) We did not use the restaurant and bar as Darling Harbour is THE place to have breakfast, dinner and drinks. We only stayed for 3 nights but we were very impressed. Excellent location. We have paid more in Sydney for inferior accomadation.

location location location
By oopsididitagain, 05/20/07
I loved the area this hotel is located in. Ideal for shopping and sight seeing. Hotel is close to 2 subway stations and also the ferry. Concierge has great deals on attractions like the zoo, aquarium and IMAX. DON'T take their recommended Grey Line tours, I did and wasn't impressed. Later we found out the hotels get a large comission for pushing the Grey line and AAT tours. Your best bet is to get online and look for the smaller touring companies. I recommend Sydney Wilderness Tours. We had a blast with Geoffrey on the Hunter Valley Wine tour.

Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/04/07
This hotel was conveniently located near Darling Harbor and the Monorail. Staff was helpful, even let us check in around 10:30 am. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful. Breakfast buffet was the best on our trip. We would definitely stay here again.

Best concierge service ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/06
The concierge/bell staff took exceptional care of me during my recent stay. I can't say enough good things about their personal service. The hotel is typical of hotels of this class and location was perfect for me - easy walkway to Darling Harbor and a pleasant walk to Opera House, bridge and Royal Gardens and Hyde Park. The hotel staff gave me great ideas for planning my visit and discount coupons too! They even kept me from missing the Grayline Tour Bus. The city streets are great for walking with shops and restaurants open in the evening too. Darling Harbor is great after dark - lots of people, restaurants and shops. The downtown view/reflection on the water was beautiful. I was traveling alone but never felt insecure walking during the day or evening. Everyone - everywhere was very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

I would be insane to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/06
I booked through a HotelReservation Group. The room was indicated at AUD$260 SINGLE. I ENDED UP PAYING AUD$278.43. I am an Australian but they transferred the AU$ into US$ for a Hotel in Sydney and I live in Brisbane. I was told at Reception the only room left was a room for disabled people i.e. no wardrobe etc. When I entered the room (it was supposed to be a NON SMOKING floor and ROOM!!!) I was overcome by the stench of cigarette smoke. I MEAN I WAS HAVING GREAT DIFFICULTY BREATHING AS I HAVE SINUS. The STINK remained the night I was there. I even opened the door to the corridor to breathe at 1.30am Sunday 12 November 2006. The air seemed to be recyled over and over again as it did not change. The Reception staff listened to me but that is all they did. Yes I would be insane to use the Hotel Reservation Group and any Sheraton Hotel in future.

The place is great, but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/06
The staff are at best not helpful but worst, disrespectful. On our third night, both our room keys wouldn't open the door. I called for assistance using the telephone in front of the elevators. I was told to proceed to the reception desk where a Chinese-looking staff wasn't even looking while talking to me. After the usual counter-check by asking for the name of the occupant which I did, he then insisted to see an identification document even after I told him I had to hurry back as I left my wife all alone in the 5th floor outside the room. In Hongkong or elsewhere, a staff would easily be present to give a hand. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

We had a ball !!
By Arboleas, 05/14/06
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the hotel staff were fantastic. Whilst booking in the Receptionist noted that it was my husbands 65th Birthday and within a very short time, he was presented with a wonderful cake, chocolates and a bottle of champayne along with a birthday card signed by nearly every member of staff. We stayed at the hotel during a national holiday, and although the hotel was short staffed, you would never had guessed it because those who were working covered for their absent colleagues as well. I do agree that the breakfast menu could be changed, but as I would not want to pay extra for that small detail, leave well alone. All the food was cooked to perfection, it was fresh and always had a good choice for all tastes. Well done 4 points we hope to come and stay again.

Fantastic value for Sheraton quality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/06
We got this hotel through United Vacations and were really pleasantly surprised. It is in Darling Harbour but close enough to walk to the Rocks, or downtown. It is also a walkway away from the Darling Harbour Ferry to Circular Quay. Easily the best Ferry ride around. Under the Bridge with panoramic views of the Opera House. I make 2-3 trips to Sydney a year and can see this always being an option. As a Starwood Preferred Guest we were allowed to use points for the breakfast buffet. Great Service, actually better than the Westin in Melbourne for 4 times the price!

The lights of Darling Harbour at night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/05
Taking a harbourview room is highly recommended. The lights of Darling Harbour at night is breathtaking. Great location too, proximity to many attractions, i.e. QVB, Sydney Tower, Sydney Aquarium, Cockle Bay Wharf, King Street Wharf, IMAX theater, StarCity casino, etc. The restaurant serves great food. During our stay, they have special lobster, which was very nice. But unfortunately, according to the waiter, it's not regularly available.
