It is situated just two-and-a-half blocks from Waikiki Beach, but you may prefer to skip the busy downtown scene altogether. Instead, relax by the hotel's large pool area and dine in the Casada Restaurant, a terrific Mediterranean-style establishment. There is also a cozy cocktail lounge right off the lobby.

Stay here to save money until November 2008
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/08
We stayed here from March 14th to March 22nd. A nice location (just 6 blocks from the beach walk, 4 blocks from Post office, ABC Convenience store just 1 block away). The room was ok (was on 12th floor with city/ocean view from balcony). The lobby was excellent. When we got off elevator on 12th floor, water stains on carpet... in the room, some stains on carpet. Beds were alright. Housekeeping needs some work...there was two of us staying in the room but only left us one towel each morning. Also, only vacuumed the carpet once while there 9 days. The pool was on the small side but it was clean. There is also a Sauna for Men and one for women. The staff (besides housekeeping) was always courteous and polite. You can read online that this place was bought by Wyndham Hotels and will be turned into condos starting in November 2008. This is the last year of the hotel. It might have been better back in the day but it needs to remodeled quite a bit. Only stay here if you're trying to save money and want to stay in "ok" conditions.

A Dream Come True
By Daryl, 05/04/07
This was our first trip to Hawaii, and wanted it to be the best. Even after reading the past reviews of the Hotel, we were very impressed with the service and hospitality of the staff. Our room was very nice, and had a great view of the city, and yes... The ocean (23rd Floor). The hotel is within walking distance from the beach and all the local shopping areas (Don't forget to checkout the ABC Store's). There is a TGI Fridays at the end of the corner (GREAT FOOD). We are coming back next year, and planning on staying here again. My advice to you... DON'T listen to past reviews, come check it out for yourself.

Would stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/06
The room was fine and clean. The bed was queen sized and comfortable. There is a refrigerator and in room coffee. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the dining room is very lovely and restful. The valet parking staff was especially courteous and helpful. The desk clerks were as well.It is within walking distance to the beach and shopping. I think it is a great value and would stay here again.

Recently renovated
By Robert R, 07/18/06
Older reviews are no longer accurate. The hotlel has under gone a renovation. Some of the rooms still need some work and are in the process of being remodeled. This is a class place, like being in Paris or Rome.

Some rooms are better than others.
By Robert R, 11/13/05
This is a old-world Euro Boutique hotel. It is very fancy with stunning architecture. I consider this to be one of my favorite hotels in the world. Some of the cheaper rooms are not quite as nice - you get what you pay for.

Dream Vacation?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/12/05
Upon arrival to our hotel on 9/3/2005 (10:30 pm) we were told that there had been a glitch in the computer system and that our reservation at Royal Garden didn't begin until 9/5/2005, however, they had relocated us to the Pacific Mariner until 9/5/2005. We were forced to find this hotel on our own which was located by the airport. It was also reported that the "computer glitch" effected several others (leaves one to wonder if it was due to the USC football game. It was very disheartening (I arrived on my birthday only be be sent to a hotel of much less value that one I would have chosen myself)to have my dream vacation soiled within an hour of arrival. The cascading pool was closed and turning green. The room for the most part was clean except the shower stall had the previous persons shampoo and soap in the stall. The first two packets of coffee are free and then are $1.50 per packet. No parking is available.

Not what I had hoped
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/05
The lobby was beautiful, but the rooms were somewhat shabby. Both pools were closed, and one of the restaurants was closed. Valet parking only. The hotel did not live up to the descriptions that I read online. The hotel seems like it was probably a very nice place to stay about 20-30 years ago.
