Great hotel for conference and visitors
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/23/08
After reading a few bad reviews I was a little worried about this hotel but was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was when I got there. This was the host hotel for our small conference. The locations was idea, the staff was wonderful and friendly (even made last minute copies for me at the height of check-in time), the down comforters very nice, meeting rooms were big enough to hold our board meeting in as well as prepare documents for our conference attendees, and the price was right! I recommend this hotel for meeting planners as well as visitors to the Kalamazoo and Portage areas.

Awful!!!
By Wow, 4/6/08
When we arrived at the hotel, we thought it looked very nice and thought that we would have a pleasant stay. However, that was not the case. The beds were as hard as rocks, there was construction going on all night on the main floor of the hotel and overall it was just awful!

OK Place
By suprdad4t, 2/18/08
We had reservations at Lees Inn (DISGUSTING)Decided to search area and found Best Western to be OK. Best part is that they allowed our pet. Hotel looked great in lobby. Snack machine worked on only certain snacks. Ice machine did not work on main floor. No towels in pool area--apparently you can drink beer/alcohol in pool area-(BAD SITUATION)There were alot of loud and obnoxious people during that time. Lights above Breakfast Bar were very dusty and dirty (so watch for anthing falling in your food)Air Zoo was AWESOME! Overall hotel stay was OK.Will we return? ................

Good for the price
By Moe_Larry_Cheese, 2/20/07
I believe that you get what you pay for. This was a decent place for the price. Pool and jacuzzi were operational, although the sauna didnt work. The hotel manager was a sweetheart.

Hospitality? LOL!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/07
The pool is 68 degrees!!! verified by the snoddy manager on duty as we found it to be freezing. The Jacuzzi was empty, the sauna had no light, our 2nd room had tape all over the walls from a party (room 247/249), the 1st room smelled like a dead animal (224/226). We stayed here so the kids could play in the pool and Jacuzzi - not usable, and no partial refund when requested. Hospitality is not an attribute of this hole. The only offer for any satisfaction was for a "free movie". We selected this hotel for the amenities for which we were charged but were not usable.

I'd do it again!
By Joni, 9/20/06
What was great about this place was the newly renovated rooms. I did not know this prior to arrival, however when we got to our room the first thing my husband said was "umm, I can smell the new carpet" and he was right. The clean smell of new carpet was evident. We had one king size bed in the room. The far corner held a full size desk with wall mounted lighting on both walls around the corner above the desk. There was a nice arm chair and ottoman in the corner. The bed spread was obviously new to match the new wall paper border and carpet. The t.v. was in a nice wood hutch with some carved-wood style. The bath "room" containing the shower and toilet was seperate from the sink/vanity/closet area. This was nice because my shower did not fog up my husband's mirror, etc. The bathroom had a heat lamp mounted in the ceiling. The showers had good water pressure and surprisingly enough the showers were clean and not mildewy (is that a word?). The staff was friendly and one thing I loved about their breakfast was not only the great variety of food and drinks but they had a huge waffle maker with pre-measured cups of mix to pour onto the griddle and make yourself hot-off-the-griddle waffles! Hot breakfast is wonderful! If business ever brings us back I know we will be found at the Best Western!
