Credit cards
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/08
If you make reservations, make sure you do not let them charge your credit card until the day you leave, because if you have to leave early for any reason, they will not refund your money. I have never stayed at a motel, in my opinion, that is as dishonest as Family Inn in Townsend, TN. I will not recommend anyone to check in with a credit card.

We will be back
By tammy s, 07/13/08
We loved our trip to Townsend. The manger of this hotel and his wife was very nice and we will stay with them again. The room was clean and the cleaning staff was great. The thing was loved the most was the pool. The kids loved playing in it. And we could use it at anytime....If you going to the area. And you are looking for a place to stay. I would try this hotel out...

NEVER AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/08
we had a friend to pass the week we went, almost did not go but it was our 11th year of being married so we went and stayed. this was not a good ideal.!ran to the room used the rest room and left until about 10 walked in and oh no! the carpet was tore up along my side of bed,the dirt and dust was awful around the air,the cable box was hanging out of the wall behide the tv, they were not a fitted sheet on the bed, top blanket smelled awful, and the power went out [they have no control over that] but it was pitch black, no light up EXIT sign, no phone call to make sure everones ok I was scared ,then after all that, we got up the next moring took a shower in cold water. so we paid for couch to set on, because i was worried about the bed room #9, i did take pic of all thi

Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/07
My stay here in Townsend was unexpected and unwanted due to my fathers illness but I must say the staff there is great. I had met a wonderful lady at the front desk who made me feel right at home and I found myself more interested in my stay here. from what I understand people that come to stay here like to chat with the manager there and feel better about their stay and she told me about her children and grandchild who's beautiful, and while I missed my girls she made it easier for me to cope with being away from home and my fathers illness. Thank you Ann! The house cleaners here are great, everything was nice and clean it had a fresh feeling to it. I actually would like to come back here to Townsend and stay again the $ for ice and phone calls is worth the hospitality! I will be recommending this place to anyone i know in TN and to anyone raveling there.

drunk manager not drunk just tired!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/07
i have stayed in motels across the country, and let me tell you this, family inn townsend is one of the cleanest, nicest i have ever been to. the staff is great, they treat you with smiling faces and like extended family. the manager that was mentioned above works around the clock to ensure that the motel is running correctly. i have stayed at this motel many many times and never have i had a negative time spent there. i stongly advise all to give family inn townsend a chance trust me you will see for yourself it is a great place to stay.

PREVIOUS REVIEWS SCARED US, BUT NOT ALL TRUE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/04
We were quite concerned and wearry of staying, due to other enteries of this Inn. Yes you do pay 25 cents for a bucket of ice, however; the stay was just fine. We did not intend on spending an excessive amount of time in the room of the Inn, due to the fact we were there to sight see in the mountains. The rooms we accomidating for the day time sight seeing families that intend on sleeping/swimming/eating being the priority of your Inn accomidations. Rooms were very clean houskeeping was friendly and eager to make our stay comfortable. A rude front desk employee when we checked in, but when confronted with his negativity it was corrected and improved. Loved the location of the Inn's quiet spot near the camp grounds away from the hustle active areas like Gatlinburg. The smell of the camp fires gave you the sense that you truely were in the Great Smoky Mountain area. I give this Inn an A+ for the economy vacationers that only want quiet, sleep, and cleanliness. Sincerely Happy Travelers of the NW Ohio area.
