Relax Inn, Folkston

I am a truck driver and I am on the road a lot. I stay in a lot of different places. This one is terrible. Rooms are old and stink, there are bugs, mold, beds are uncomfortable, unfriendly service. All around just a bad motel. Do not stay here.

Me and my wife were going on a short vacation to see family in Miami, when we decided to get some rest after the long drive. My wife pulled up nearest hotels on her smartphone and seen the Relax Inn in Folkston had good rates for what seemed like a decent place. When we arrived, the Woman at the front desk asked us if we wanted HOURLY rates......I looked at my wife in disgust. We wanted a nightly rate, which we already knew. She made out like she misunderstood me, and started to raise her voice when I told her we will not stay here if this hotel does that. But they clearly had no problem charging an hourly rate by the way she acted. She then tried to charge us a total of $60.00 for the room, the website CLEARLY says $44! When I asked her the what happened to the internet rate she became very offensive and raised her voice yet again. Being as wore out from driving as we were, we took the room at the UNADVERTISED $60.00 a night rate. The rooms seemed okay, for an older hotel. But were very dirty. They also have a bad bug problem. I seen multiple small roaches in the room. Needless to say, me and my wife slept with the sheets tucked in. It was probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. And looking at the other reviews the problems are strikingly similar. DO NOT stay here. Terrible business, terrible rooms, terrible everything. The only good review is from a family member, and is complete Bull.

Well when we first arrived at the hotel, we had a pre arranged price of $44.95 just like the website says....for three nights. The woman at the front tried to raise it to $60.00 a night. She was very disputive about the price. She finally agreed to $49.00 plus tax, it ended up being $57.00. That being said, the rooms themselves were completely gross. The first night, I awoke to use the restroom and seen two different cockroaches. One on the nightstand and one in the bathroom sink. The next night, I was going to heat up supper in the microwave when I opened the door and a cockroach crawled out of the door hole. Also, there were 4 pieces of dried up pizza underneath the bed, that I brought to her attention. On the 2nd day, during the afternoon I found out my stay would have to be cut short and when I walked up to the front desk to ask to see if I could possibly recieve a refund for that single night, the woman working in a nutshell, flew mad when she found out I had "reservations" so called. Written on a piece of paper, and that I could not receive a refund for the third night. So I ended up leaving and STILL payed for the room. Also roof construction was going on the entire time during the early hours of the morning keeping me awake. I am not one to complain about hotels, but this is terrible. Terrible service terrible rooms, terrible everything. If you come to Folkston, GA PLEASE STAY AT THE WESTERN. They are very freindly.

We had six guys(three rooms) in our group that stayed at the Relax Inn. The one person we saw at check in was friendly enough. The rooms were adequate yet they were a little dirty. No shampoo or toiletries in the room. The Tahiti restaurant had very good food and service. I would stay there again although I wouldn't bring my wife to stay there.

The rooms where filthy and should be shut down. $80 for this place too! I left within in 10 minutes of being in the room.

The exterior appearence is pleasant. Until you enter a room. The carpet is filthy, mold is everywhere and roaches crawl up the walls. It cost $75 for the roach infested dump! Don't stay here!

I would never stay at the Relax Inn again--horribly nasty--I refused to sleep on the sheets--roaches flew across the room--stay in Waycross or Jacksonville. This place should be closed down by the health department.

We chose this motel because they allowed dogs and their rates were low ($49). The total for two rooms ended up being over $150. False Advertising? Also, the carpet was so filthy that you had to wear shoes to keep your feet clean. I wouldn't even let my dogs sleep on the carpet! The bathroom smelled so bad, I had to go buy air freshner to deal with it. We asked for a late checkout at the time we made reservations and was told it would be an extra 50% - no problem. But when we were ready to check out, we were told we would have to pay 50% of BOTH rooms even though we were only wanting a late checkout for one room. The personnel (owners) exhibited unprofessionable behavior, yelling at us when we pointed out inconsistencies in the pricing and the late checkout. Definintely a very unpleasant experience.
