The famous local poet Federico García Lorca spent his last few days of life here, in what was his friend and fellow poet's family home, before being captured by Franco supporters and led off to be imprisoned and then murdered. The building is really a grand 19th-century Andalusian townhouse with a lovely central patio decorated with a fountain, geometric tiles, marble columns, plants and a neo-Mudejar-style ceiling. The compact and tastefully furnished bedrooms on three floors are temperature-controlled and sound-proofed. The downstairs dining room has original art deco fittings and photos of Lorca's Granada of the 1920s.
