wheel chair user

I need a disabled room as I am in a wheel chair. Dundarach have a disabled room, but whenever I wanted it, it was always booked. I thought perhaps it wasn't there at all. Anyway, I made it in, as I like the Theatre winter programme in Pitlochry. The room is on the ground, in the new wing. It is goodish access but not perfect. They said that was because of fire regulations, any excuse I thought. I now know it is actually true, the fire inspection was on, one of the days of my stay. The high standard of fire protection provided mean heavy doors with strong springs. It is'nt perfect for challenged but it won't burn down. If you stay there it is best to take a continental tray for your breakfast, then you can stay put a bit longer, before going out, for the tubes I need etc. The ramp into the main part is just a litle too steep for me but motorised would be fine. Actually there are rooms inside, but not full spec for wheelchairs, but if you can stand or move a bit they are good, as they are near bar, not that I drink much ( ***) and handy for restaurant. The restaurant staff are good with you and get you into a table where you can stay on your wheels, but you can't get a view 'cause those tables are around the edge. Also, the boss seems cold and stern but actually he is astonishingly efficient. I mean that. Just try to meet him and ask him a real question. Nothing is a problem, more like an opportunity for this hostelry to show you nothing is a problem. Its a bit peculiar ( strange) because normal life says everything is a problem. So I will be back there in July, all being well. The deposit I paid is non refundable. Well, such is life. Wilma
