slip-ups and a break-in

My wife and I stayed with you from 17-20 Jan. Your various staff members were courteous and helpful at all times---thank you---BUT the first room we were assigned had a plugged toilet, the second room was broken into in the middle of the night, at 4:23 p.m., after an unknown party tampered with the lock as well as the bolt and woke us up with a start, and the third room was an "upgrad" two single beds, while we prefer a queen-size). We wonder if you ever found out who the intruder was? It will be hard to feel safe and comfortable next time.

So what?

This is really a low end hotel/motel that happens to be just outside the downtown area. Its rates reflect its location as opposed to having anything to do with the quality of the rooms - which are nothing to get excited about. It's a place to crash while you're in the city and that's all it is.

Not bad if you want to save some money.

I and my significant half have been looking for a low price one night stay in Ottawa, and I've found a cheap deal at Econolodge in Downtown Ottawa. Price wise, it was the cheapest one I could find for a double's room, and for less than $80, we got everything we expected (in March). The Goods: - Free Parking - Tidy and Clean room (not to be confused with beauty) - Complimentary continental breakfast - The room is equipped with standard facilities (e.g. TV, bathroom and heating) The Bads: - The building's not in the best condition, and not really decorated. Take home message: - Not a bad place for the money, but you could get something of much better quality for just about 30% more in price.
