Hotel Botticelli - a typical Tuscan building, Florence

Although most of the sightseeing spots in Florence are within walking distance of this hotel, it is not located in the nicest part of the city. Generally, I found the closer to the river, the better. Perhaps the hotels are pricier in that area, but I should have done more research. However, I found the front desk staff to be helpul. I am confused by the positive ratings on ZsaZsa. I fell into this tourist trap, only to be thoroughly disappointed. I'll spare the details (on second thought, the tomatoes in the calabrese salad were green, the chicken was undercooked, etc.) but check with the hotel staff to see where the locals eat. I can assure you they do not eat at Zsa Zsa.

We stayed at Hotel Botticelli in the spring of 2004 while visiting our daughter studying in Florence. It was in a very convenient location to her school, as well as the Duomo. The restaurant Za-Za's nearby was great too!

We really enjoyed Hotel Botticelli! The location can't be beat, right in the center of Florence, a short walk from the Duomo, the best museums, and the market. There is a great patio on the second floor that overlooks the down - perfect for a bottle of wine or to peruse your Italy guidebooks. The service was nice, but nothing special. The breakfast was quite good.
