Stay away from this place. Bad News
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/12
This is a time share place with a out of control HOA managed by Wyndham Vacation Managment. These guys have a real Creative Meathod of keeping book. They don't send you statements and expect you know what the yearly fee is without any way to really know. They change the fee yearly. Whey they receive your payment they don't send the next statemens showing the payment. This statement shows a late fee of $120 when the By Laws show it is to be $25. Between the managment at Wyndham the board of directors for the HOA and the on site manager Ben Banks and throw in Diamond Resorts it is a joke. They all say it is not them it is the other. Like those days of the shell game. They play it well. Take my advice and go find a requtable place to stay. The Light House is close to this and they have nice rooms. They run this place like it should be not like San Luis Bay Inn.

If you don't have time share, don't go
By y, 10/18/09
My husband and I don't have time share, but was recommended by a friend who owns time share. Unfortunately, it was a quite disappointing experience. First of all, they might put us in the worst room available there, which does not have any view, if there is, it's a view to the wall! Although we were initially told by a reservation lady that she cannot guarantee our ocean view request, we did not expect it was this bad. Our room was facing to a wall and also to a general hallway where people walking by can see us inside. There was no light coming in, the room was so dark even it's a bright day time, they use outside patio furniture for inside, the decoration looked horribly cheap, and the king size bed felt so worn out. My husband travels all over the world, staying in nice pricey hotels and occasionally some economical motel. He could not have any sleep at all because of this bed. And whenever he tossed and turned, I was woken up by the vibrations. Next day, as we complained about the bed at check-in counter, they told us it was a brand new bed!!! Also, my husband wasn't happy about the golf course adjacent to there. Because their employees stared playing before the regulated tee time (and probably for free), he had to wait for these guys finishing each hole. In the end, he did not have enough time and only played 9 holes. Maybe, if I had time share there, they may put us in a better suite, however, based on my experience, I would not recommend anybody to go there.

We can't wait to return!!!
By Nikki, 1/6/09
My husband and I are owners at this resort and had not yet had a chance to visit. This was our first time at this resort and we absoutely loved it. We were fortunate to have an ocean view room. We stayed in a one bedroom and was perfect for the two of us. The room was very clean and spacious. We especially enjoyed the balcony and the view. The resort was immaculate!! Had a nice activity room, pool, and gym. The location was great being that it was right across from the ocean. Also they have a strip of fun souvenior stores to browse. All the restaurants we tried in the area provided good service and great food. Another perk to the resort is that its close to "Hearst Castle" in San Simeon. We really enjoyed a couple tours their. All in all, everything was awesome and can't wait to go again!!!

Over rated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/08
We were able to reserve a room with a small kitchen, Queen bed, pull out and a bathroom, in June 08 for Dec 08, we were told that we would have a view of the ocean and did, but in order to see the sea you almost had to fall over the side of the building. We did attend the sales presentation, turned out not such a good time, the man that talked to us and showed the property was not so much the christian he said he was, after hearing how much the 10,000 points cost we were turned off, and then offered lower points of 5,000 and then 2,500 but still the % rates of 19.9 % then 9.76% and then asking what cash would buy we were told a 5% discount and that was the best deal they could do, we turned it down and thanked them after waiting over 21/2 hours ( 90 min ya right) then we hear the dork that walked us around, some big dork named Arian? was cussing at the desk right outside the room our children were waiting in. This is not a resort, it is a hotel/motel and the maids are not very good, they all seem to only speak english when they bring items such as towels that are called for (think 4 persons check in and the then only 2 sets are left in the room so you call and they bring them and you tip them for doing what should have been done) and they speak english but when you catch them just after they leave the room (the same person) they don't understand your speaking english untill you speak to them in spanish, they look shocked (guess they know NO TIP THIS TIME) Well we had a good time but think it is a way over rated property and if that is the flag ship well we can say been there done that and will not wait in line for that again. One last thing the sales staff might want to rethink what they believe to be facts, thinking and knowing are 2 different things and they do a lot of thinking.

Over looks Avila Beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/07
We stayed in a two bedroom suite. Had a great time in our comfortable room. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our children really enjoyed the pool and resort activities. My wife and I enjoyed the nice kitchen, and not having to buy ever meal out. The uncrowded Avila Beach is a nice place to relax and is not near as windy as other central coast beaches. Enjoyed long walks each morning on the Bob Jones trail. Just beautiful. The resort sits above the town of Avila Beach. In the evening, we would leave the windows open and listen to the waves break. Great views of the town, coast, and the surrounding mountians. We plan on returning again this summer.

Beautiful View
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/16/06
Beautiful Views and loved that the resort was close to the beach for the kids--they also enjoyed the gym, pool/spa and the pool table! Had great dinner out on the pier while looked down through glass table to see fish and earlier neat breakfast at place with outdoor patio surrounded by flowers both a little pricey but it was vacation.Nice having the kitchenette and even though only got a studio was much nicer than a lot of places we've been.Did had problem with some noisy guests(think they were drunk) down by the pool but mentioned to management and they took care of it.We'll be back --made for a nice vacation get away and close enough to things but away from most crowds..also not as windy as Pismo.
