EXCELLENT
By Daniel, 8/1/12
What's wrong with this hotel?? Nothing!! Family of 5 vacation during July 4th week 2012. Our room/suite was huge - all the ammenities - included breakfast bar was fresh, good, and varied. Walking distance to everything we needed. Attentive staff - great houskeeping (yes - we tipped). We liked everything so much we made a reservation for 2013. Same room - same week.

double charged
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/12
My son gave me a weekend away for a Christmas present and had the whole thing paid for. When I went to check out they charged me for the room. Son had proof that the room was paid for. They still said that it was not paid for and very conveniently they do not have the information I presented to them at check in. Also I was checking the 2nd receipt that i HAD to pay this time, the prices DONT MATCH!. BE WARE WHEN CHECKING IN AND OUT OF THIS HOTEL. Tried calling the billing department and how convenient they are closed too. Would love to hear how they are going to handle this.

Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/11
I notice that some of these reviews are 2, 3 or even 4 years old. I would rate this review site a one star because this place was a Days Inn before March of 2008. Please update your reviews or remove them you idiots.

\"Not what you expect from a Hampton Inn\"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/15/11
I can't say the staff was rude, they never acknowledged our presence with smile, hello, or even"how was your stay?". If you are traveling with a handi-cap person, or are handi-cap don't expect any help with rooms or even entry doors that accomidate wheel chairs (a normal size wheel chair) , I was traveling with my mother who is in a wheel chair, she did not complain one time. I essed up and did not check the handi-cap box when reserving online, I told the front desk staff person and asked if they had a handi-cap room, or just a larger room. He never attempted to check, his response " I don't have anything, there is nothing I can do." It was my fault so we suffered through it, I should say she suffered through it, not having safety rails in the bathroom madeit impossible for her to be independent. The bathroom was nice and large but had hair left in the bathtub, and the floor was dirty. The complimentary breakfast was good. We normally stay at the Hampton Inn South and will definitely be going back there. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hilton family property.

Loved this hotel!
By happymom, 7/26/10
Our family just returned from a 10 day vacation and we loved it! This was our second trip to virginia beach so we were somewhat familiar with the area. The rooms are standard size with 2 queen beds, although the beds seemed larger than our queen at home. The pillows are soft and fluffy as well as the beds. The towels were incredibly soft! The air conditioner in the room is the best weve come across, It was able to get our room incredibly cold and that was during a heat wave. One drawback was how loud it was. The hot breakfast in the morning consisted of one egg dish such as scramble, cheese omelet, or denver , one meat such as turkey sausage, sausage patty or bacon and home fries or biscuits. It was nice having something different if we wanted, The cereal, bread and fruit selections were the same everyday and there was always plenty. The 31st bandstand is right next door and that can be great or not depending on how you feel about nightly music. We enjoyed it and it cant be heard inside the room and can only be heard somewhat on the deck. It was really nice to have the pool and the laundry room open 24 hours. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers that cost a dollar each. There is no change machine or dispenser so you need to go to the front desk for change or detergent. The hot tub was REALLY hot but it felt great. The pool was clean. The hotel staff is very friendly, always greeting you and asking how your doing. Our maid was awesome, always trying to help out. There is a foot wash right outside the door leading to the beach. We didnt eat at the restaurant in our hotel but we did try to get a drink at the bar one night. It was close to closing (10pm) but the waiter was nice enough to serve us. He wasnt a bartender so I didnt get the drink I wanted (he didnt know how to make it) but he went out of his way to accomodate us. What he did end up making for me was nice! This is definately not like the other bars along the boardwalk, it is quiet and usually empty which we appreciated, The hotel is definately a great family hotel, not a singles hangout. I would highly recommend this hotel and if for the fact that we bought into a timeshare while we were there, we would stay there again!

HO HO HO Hampton!
By JACK, 1/3/09
My husband and I spent New Years at Virginia Beach, our room was on the third floor and completely oceanfront, with a wall of windows, the bathroom was huge and clean, the breakfast room was also on the oceanfront, different hot selections each day. The thing I liked best was this is not some cold, convention hotel with a parking garage a block away, but a spacious and very comfortable place. Cris, at the front desk, was so helpful. There is not a lot to do in winter, but she booked us a whale watching trip, planned a day in nearby Williamsburg and told us about a dozen great thrift and antique shops, well actually she told me, my husband did the whale watching. We are going back for Valentines Day, I did not get to finish all the thrift shops.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/07
We made a trip in Oct.2006 and had a wonderful time. The staff was great we took my elderly father and my dog and everyone was very helpful.Very convience for eating and relaxing.Hot tub was terrific and having someone at the front desk was very safe feeling. The rooms are clean not a lot of frills but your not paying for frills.Would highly recommend we are going in Oct. of this year and we hope to stay with them again.People with pets its an excellent motel and very helpful.Nice benches for sitting outside and enjoying the beach.

What a Wonder Vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/07
Staying at the Days Inn Oceanfront was a wonderful experience for my family and I. The Hotel was great the rooms were Fairly clean. The only complaint about the rooms was that the windows could have had a little windex. The balcony was great we could see the ocean right from our rooms and we even got the chance to see some dolphins. It was so beautiful. As my family and I walk the board walk we found there was so much to do.We never got the chance to do everything but we did find time to eat at the restuarant at Days Inn. The food and service was great.I cant wait to come back.

Good Hotel - Some Issues
By new bbrn, 6/13/07
This was our second stay at the Days Inn Oceanfront for Sand Soccer weekend. The hotel is in a wonderful location - all rooms being right on the boardwalk to the beach. They all have a wonderful view. The hotel itself looks pretty nice - the lobby is nice and the indoor pool/hot tub were nice, too. The elevators are slow and the hallways are HOT - they obviously don't have A/C in the halls. This was bad when waiting for the slow elevators. The room was about an 8 out of 10 for cleanliness. Obviously cleaned, but not with great care. It was average in size and furniture. The bathroom was a little larger than average with ok water pressure and nice shower head. They did have fridge & microwave - and a coffee maker was in bathroom. The beds were ok - comfy enough but nothing special. Nice balcony! Of course, the noise was bad until about midnight since they have a band playing in the outdoor part of the restaurant right below the rooms. But that subsided after 12. I requested one extra sheet & blanket but they didn't have any more blankets (what? isn't this a hotel? how can they not have blankets?). We had a few issues with the door card-reader not working and the bathroom doorknob not locking... but chose to deal with those and told them on the way out (room 310). Hopefully they will fix those. We didn't really have any run-ins with the staff. The few times we talked to them they were kind, but didn't go out of their way. I know that many hotels along the strip are older and have issues. But there are some that are really nice. For the price, this one is very good. Nothing special - but definitely didn't gross me out (I'm a bit of a germophobe).
