Birdwing Spa, Litchfield

I spent a wonderful week at Birdwing Spa. The accomodations were well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff is accomodating and professional. There is an amazing array of activities and fitness classes. You can do as much or as little as you like. The grounds are just incredible. There are marked trails which you can walk on your own as well as group walks. Bicycles are available for your use as well as walking poles. The food was extremely tasty, well-prepared and nicely presented. I can't say enough good things about Birdwing. I'm hoping to return there next year.

recently had an overnight stay, to check it out, planning on returning very soon with my girlfriends. I had an incredibly relaxing stay. I had a suite in the barn, very roomy and comfy and clean. The staff was warm and nurturing, my services were fantastic, the best facial and massage of my life and i have made a point of it to treat myself with such services. I found it very refreshing to be in such a natural and beautiful setting. The only thing that it did not have was the stuck up cold staff i have experienced else where. I highly recommend Birdwing!

This property is very poorly maintained and not well run. I truly wish that I had been warned about this place before I spent the money there. This property is run down and has not been updated in 20 years. The equipment (if it exists at all) is old and not working well. The staff is curt and unfriendly (being the midwest you expect different). The rooms are old and rundown. There are no amenities - do not believe the brochure. There is softsoap in the bathroom. No TV, no clock, no radio, no little shampoos that smell good, SHARED BATHROOMS!!!!, basic bland boring food, nothing to drink except water, coffee and tea. There is no one on the property after 7pm. There are no locks on the doors. The "lake" is a duck poop infested swamp that you cannot launch a kayak without becoming filty from the muck. My room was in the basement. I cannot believe there are not more reviews out on the internet reflecting how horrible this place truly is. I would not waste the money!!
