It was ok and there were many good and bad things about this hotel. The room was very nice and the views were amazing!! Nice and centrally located. Nice parking garage. The elevator broke and I had to use the stairs. The pools were absolutely disgusting!! They were cloudy and green. The hotel entrance should not be through the restauraunt. Overall I would most likely stay there again.

Never Again!

We stayed here Memorial Day Weekend 2008 and never again! The room was not very clean and there wasn't even a light bulb in the entrance light in side the room. I should have read some of the other reviews before booking. The staff did not care--I asked twice to have a light bulb installed for when we returned at night and was ignored each time. The price may be cheap, but it's still not worth the money or aggravation. There are many other places to stay in OC.

Excellent choice

Pretty much everything. We went through the week and wasn't quite as busy on the boardwalk. Strolled through many shops, played games at night and watched the waves from our room. Everyone was helpful, from the service desk to housekeeping. One thing I really enjoyed, it was my nephews first time at the beach. He was so excited. In a soda bottle, he got some water a little sand and put lots of little sea shells in it to bring back for remembering his very special trip. the desk receptionist actually took the time to view it and discuss what all he got to see on his first trip. Please, heck yes. It take special people to take time for a child and made his whole trip so special. Housekeeping gave us extra towels without any fuss as there were 5 of us in the room. I am a manger at a motel myself. Upon entering the room, I checked the bathroom, and beds. Found the room really clean. There is nothing I didn't enjoy about our trip. I would highly recommend the 12th street motel to anyone who wants to enjoy a clean and friendly atmosphere.

wont go to this hotel again!

The hotel is dated and is overpriced for the rooms. The rooms are not clean. room service was less than acceptable, The pool was not very safe and the outside door was open to the boardwalk.? We told the staff at the front desk and they reallly did not seem to care. While we were at the pool there was a middle aged man and some young males in the hot tub that we thought were hotel guests we found out that they come often from the board walk. This just seems to be a lawsuit waiting to happen.The breakfast is less than acceptable. The only good experience was the hotel is centrally located on the beach.

Never in this lifetime

My sister and I had reservations at Howard Johnsons, 12th St., Ocean City, MD from 9/6/06 to 9/8/06. On arrival the room had an overwelming sour dirty smell. At night with the doors closed for safety reasons the odor caused eye stinging and headaches. We ask to be moved but was informed all the rooms had wet carpet from Ernesto storm and when we walked the carpet squished with water. Manager refused to return my calls, offer discount or answer my emails. Feel this room should be condemned until carpet replaced. Also no maid service at all during our stay. Location is great and so is view but not worth the health risk involved.

Perfect Location

this hotel is great, the rooms are clean and the views are spectacular. The bar is nice and the restaurant has very good food and service. The outside pool is small but you have the Atlantic Ocean to swim in if you do not like the pool. My family will use this hotel again and again.

2nd year staying at this great hotel

My boyfriend and I have stayed at this great hotel for the past two years on our anniversary. We have always had a great time. The staff is very friendly and will help you with anything. The location is right on the boardwalk and you can sit in the restaurant, eat dinner or breakfast and look out over the ocean. We will definitely go back next year!
