Not Honeymoon Friendly or Romantic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/31/11
kids kids kids everywhere, in the hot tub, in the air. Running screaming, throwing food. Spillling drinks (yours not theirs), touching fish, kids kids kids. What a nightmare stay for the 2nd half of our honeymoon. Valet staff was great, efficient & friendly. Front desk staff very rude, slow & not in any way helpful. Room was dirty & dated, tv did not work, kitchenette is a counter, small sink & microwave. If you want a chair at the pool better plan to be there by 7AM or all the kids place towels to "hold the chairs" while the familes have breakfast. Never could get into the hot tub because it was filled 10 kids deep at all times. breakfast buffett was nice however so many little hands touching everything I just stayed with made-to-order omlettes. It was LOUD everywhere. Our room had babies staying the the rooms on both sides of us. Hotel was aware we were honeymooners & still put us between two famles. When I asked if another room was avail I was told a standard room without view was avail however they would not refund the difference for the view room I paid for. BTW supposed to be ocean view, NOT PARTIAL ocean view. I was able to lean around the edge to see the ocean. very disappointed

Once is enough
By DanO, 7/15/10
My vacation was booked through a travel agent and I paid full price so I was surprised at their pushiness to get us to listen to their time share pitch. Right at check in, we were told to go to the consierge to get my parking pass - something you normally receive at the check in desk. When I did so, instead of receiving a parking pass, I get a speech about different tour discounts I can get if I book through them. She eventually gets to the part about a 2 hour "tour" of the premises. After declining several times, I get my pass. The next day, my wife is at the concierge trying to arrange a snorkeling trip. She gets the same routine about discounts if we tour the resort. She decides it's worth it and calls me to the desk. The woman proceeds to schedule our presentation, then pulls out a piece of paper where we must sign in approximately 7 different areas. It also asks for our household income and states we have to show a credit card at the time of the presentation. I've had enough at this point, told the woman forget the tour and I'll pay full price for my snorkeling trip. Her attitude changed immediately since I suppose she gets a fee for getting people to listen to the sales pitch. I've stayed in time share rentals before and because I've paid full price, I've never been asked to listen to a presentation. The location of this place was good and the resort was clean but the attitude of some of the employees left a bad taste in my mouth. If I every go back to Maui, I'll stay at the Westin or Hyatt about a mile away. We walked through their grounds when we rented Jet Ski's and they were nicer.

Paradise in a dream come true
By Wallace, 7/2/10
Love it ,Love it, Love it. The only place that was paradise too me. Words can't explain how close I became to the island. The only thing I dislike was having to leave. I simply fell in love. Working hard to get back there for a month if I could.

Can't Recommend This Resort
By S, 7/11/09
Although I made a reservation in advance and called them shortly after my flight arrived on Maui, the check-in staff at the Kaanapali Beach Club gave my room away. Apparently, some "potential" clients were not able to catch their flight earlier that day, so the staff decided it was a good idea to give them an "owner's" room. So at check-in, the clerk said all she had available was a "scenic view" rather than the "partial ocean view" I had requested in advanced and had paid for. After three days of heated discussions and lots of frustration, I was finally moved to a partial ocean view room. I have requested a partial refund for this reservation; however, Diamond Resorts International (DRI) has done absoutely nothing for me. Serveral changes have taken place since my previous visit in 2008. The most noticiable difference is that they no longer have daily maid service so towels and trash are piled up outside most of the rooms. This makes for a rather trashy appearnce to the resort. Also, the furnishings and carpet in the room were rather worn and unkept. And although they indicated that they have flat screen televisions, they do not. We had a rather out of date looking TV. Also, the ice machine on the 5th floor was out of order. Funny -- it also was out of order during our trip in 2008. We met briefly with the sales staff during our stay. As always, DRI wanted us to buy moore points. I said "briefly" because Mitch, their "ace" salesman, became so loud and obnoxious during the meeting, that we stood up and left. The hard sales pitch just doesn't work well for me because I'm on vacation and want to relax -- not listen to a drop out on life hocking time shares.

We enjoyed our visit to Maui.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/09
My husband and I had a great time visiting Maui. Our stay at the Kaanapali Beach Club was wonderful! What a beautiful place it is and the property is very well managed. We were very impressed with our accomadations at the resort. The staff and management of the resort were very nice and professional. They were very helpful in suggesting activities and places of interest. I am a Diamond Resort member and was very impressed with the property and staff. We will definitely visit KBC again. We had a great time and plan to share this great resort with family and friends next time we visit. I will definitely recommend KBC to friends and family members. We will definitely plan to stay longer then the six days we were in Maui. There is so much to do and see. It was definitely an awesome vacation for my husband and me.

Would Go Back in a Heartbeat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/08
The Kaanapali Beach Club is by far the nicest place we have ever stayed. We traveled with another couple and had rooms side by side with Oceanview. It was absolutely fabulous. The room was very comfortable and well equipped and the bathroom was larger than you can imagine. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was nice to not be crammed into a hotel room, but rather more like an apartment. We immediately felt right at home. The room was very clean and the maid supplied us with clean fresh towels daily. The kitchenette came in handy as we fixed our own breakfast and ate on the lanai as we enjoyed the Beautiful view. The service was excellent from the time we arrived until they bid us a safe trip home. Personnel were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and well manicured. We spent many relaxing hours lounging at the great pool and walking the Beach. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Maui. Wonderful vacation with great memories, many of them because of the Kaanapali Beach Club. I would recommend this resort in a heartbeat!

We always look forward to the next trip!
By D Secrest, 6/21/08
We have had some great experiences and some not so great experiences with this resort. By far our good experiences have been very good. We enjoy staying at the Embassy Suites (or what ever they call it this year! We are owners of a deluxe ocean view room and we have never traded our week for a different resort. No matter what has happened at the hotel....it's still Maui and we are still on vacation! The breakfast is a little expensive unless you know you know you'll eat every day....pay as you go. They did not give refunds on left over tickets. The count down for our next trip always starts 2 months before we leave for Maui......We only have two week for this (our 6th) years vacation. We can't wait!

Best Vacation Thus Far
By Don, 6/17/08
Location location location. Beautiful setting. Free breakfast each morning, with our package at least. Nice evening activities. Great pool and beach. Awesome sized room with huge bathroom. Great view, we had both ocean and mountains. Easy and safe parking. All around great time and definitely want to go back. Easy to relax.

Wonderful vacaation!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/9/08
It is in a great location. A grocery store and other restaurants are right across the street but the grill, bar, retaurant on property plus pool and beach are hard to leave even for touring! The accomdations are perfect.

Worst experience ever
By Kelly, 3/4/08
The first day of my stay I had $440 dollars in cash STOLEN from my room. The security and hotel staff were extremely rude and not helpful in any way. When I submitted a claim to the loss prevention department, they took over a month to respond and simply said, sorry we cant help you. I will never, ever stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone else!!!
