Welcome Surprise

For a family of 4, we found this to be a wonderful choice. Still undergoing some renovation punch list items, but for the dollar this hotel is awesome. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and truly caring - at least after 8 p.m.-1 a.m. when we experienced their assistance. The pool and hot tub were great, plenty of towels, all Neutrogena bath products - even facial wash - the beds were fabulous, the decor is fresh and contemporary, the bathrooms were glorious and spotless, new flatscreens were amazing, cookies were served up even at 1 a.m. when we checked in - just well done. We were extremely pleased and only wished we had booked the hotel for both of the nights we were in Columbus.
There were only two downsides worth mentioning... one was that the hotel was still in renovation mode, so the elevators were in disarray and there were patchy paint corrections on walls needed, and the outside parking was full of dumpsters, etc. The second and bigger thing was the restaurant - Houlihans is it... we only stayed for breakfast, which was extremely disappointing, it was $12 per person (no under 12 pricing for kids) for boxed cereal, sliced fruit, toast and eggs. So not worth it. The buffet selection was gloomy at best, the staff were almost irritable or maybe just wishing they weren't there that day, which was unfortunate, because the setting and ambiance is new and interesting. And after such a great experience with the room, the restaurant didn't match up at all. I wouldn't eat breakfast or any other meal there after that experience - I'd rather ingest Waffle House.
But I'd stay at the hotel again in a heartbeat!!!
