Not as good as Gili!
By ,
I visited Soneva Gili with my mum and sister, the resort was OK but compared to Soneva Gili the rooms were nothing special. The staff were also quiet unfriendly....not like most Soneva and Evason properties where the staff are usually over kind and helpful. There was only one member of staff I would exclude from this and that was one of the chefs. The nicest thing about Soneva Fushi was the Organic Garden restaurant, this was absolutely amazing although found only by chance. I was riding around on my bike and came accross it, it wasn't promoted or talked about by any of the staff but it was basically a huge tree house over an organic vegatable garden. The tree house consisted of a huge restaurant with an open kitchen area, a seperate bar and more seating ares all up in the tree's with fantastic surroundings. The snorkling at fushi was also very good and it's nice to see the wildlife there but I think for the money paid and spa facilities I deffinately think Gili wins!

Awful I will never go back!!!
By ,
The second whe were in the Maldives was awful. We arrive and the forgets to pick me and my family up.To exscuse them selves they offered us a massage and it was orrible I had to go back because she hurt my neck so much. The room was tiny and unconfortable. The water wasn't clear at all.We went on a snorkeling trip and in the middle of the trip they had a technical proble so we were stucked there for 1h30!! The food was horrible to they served us roa chicken and we found hair in our vegetebals all this for 100$ each. Then all the activities were overpriced 50$ for 10 minutes of water skiing. The staff snobed us and looking like ther is no way yo can affort this hotel One tip do not go!! If you go to the Maldives the One & Only reethi rah or the Hilton

Stunning
By ,
If the great scenery wasn't enough, the food was absolutely incredible for such a tiny island. The staff on the island were very polite and a private butler was always just a call away. Each guest is supplied with a bicycle, the only petrol driven vehicle on the island is the fire truck. There really isn't much better than cycling along with rainforest on each side, and a perfect beach ahead. And no mosquitos! The island is kept almost 100% free of the little blighters. Really a wonderful experience going there.

Heaven on Earth
By ,
We have been to the Soneva Fushi twice before and can't rate it highly enough. Amazing friendly service by everybody we met. Clean and luxurious rooms. Food incredible. A calm and spiritualy theraputic environment that rests mind, body and soul. The only fault, if I was pushed to find one, would be a lack of evening entertainment but maybe that would spoil the peace? The first year we went 2002 there were no children and more of a honeymoon destination which was fine as we were on our honeymoon. Second time we went 2004, we took our 11 year old. She loved the bikes and the snorkling. There were a few more children and definitely loads for them to do. Nowhere else like this on earth!!!

Construction and no attention to details
By ,
I recently visited Soneva Fushi on my honeymoon and it was a total disaster, first the room I booked was under construction and was given an upgrade to a room facing a local island with a Huge tower. The room has rats and insects in it, and every time we informed of the small difficulties we were given a bottle of champagane to compensate..like we spend thousands of dollars on our honeymoon because we cant buy champagne our selves. You can hear construction noises during the day and you get more local people on the island wearing dirty clothes then trees and sand. A staff told me that unless we come in december/january there will always be contruction but I assumed that if we came in that period we will be distrubed by the children and families who visit every year to Soneva Fushi on special rates who are friends of the owners. In dismay we went to Huvafen Fushi, where finally we had peace...
