Great Hotel 5 Stars *****

The Beijing Hotel is probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are terrific, and you can't beat the location. My first view of the Forbidden City was from the windows of this hotel. There's an Outback Steakhouse inside, as well as bowling, game rooms, and all kinds of other things. I was there for almost a week and didn't get to explore everything. This place is HUGE. The people are very helpful and gracious. Definitely visit the open air market behind the hotel, lots of great values. The mall next door was said to be the largest mall in China. I really wasn't impressed that much by it, but it's worth a look.
The hotel is just down the street from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It's great being around all that history. It's located in the old Legation Quarter, where the foreign ambassadors were trapped during the Boxer Rebellion.
I definitely recommend that you stay here if you're in Beijing.
