Avoid this Place!
We spent our wedding night at SSHR. The experience rated as one of the worst night stays we have ever had, rating lower than the dozens of hostels at which we have stayed. First of all, the suite originally assigned to us was sub-par. It was antiquated in the wrong ways: no toilet lid, horrific carpet, gaudy, frayed furniture from the 70s, rust, cigarette butts left on the balcony. The bridal party prepared in this room, so we requested a clean up from the front desk to be completed over an hour before we needed it. When my new husband and I arrived at the suite right after the wedding for our once-in-a-lifetime WEDDING NIGHT, it was NOT cleaned. The extra table was still set up, blocking our bathroom and bed access, the floor was dirty from all the people, the bed rumpled, the furniture out of place, and the towels wet from falling in the no-lid toilet. We were DISGUSTED. We called the front desk several times, and they finally appeared 20 minutes after our first call when I sent my Matron of Honor to fix things. Fortunately, there were two employees who tried to fix things. The next room they sent us to was actually nice, but it had no jacuzzi tub, which was one of our reasons for getting a suite there on our wedding night. Then, in the middle of consummating our marriage, the staff bangs on the door and subsequently calls us. The ONE bright point is that they ended up sending us to the bi-level penthouse suite, which was incredibly nice. Of course, this was in the wee hours of the morning and they were quick to kick us out at the "extended" time of 12:30 P.M. After we left the hotel, we discovered that several people had left gifts for us at the front desk to be retrieved at check-out. The front desk denied that they had them. All-in-all, the hassles completely outweighed the few hours of bliss we received in the penthouse. Do not stay here unless you receive a renovated room and won't need help.
