Quality Inn Harbison Area, Columbia

Rooms, carpet and furniture are very dated. Plumbing is bad - first room we tried the toliet overflowed just by flushing (with nothing ion it but water). Second worked but is was touch and go every time you flushed. Rooms are musty smelling. Carpet is old and dingy. Door locks did not work well. One surprise - the breakfast bar was actually not too bad. But that alone does not make up for the rest of the issues.

I really liked the place. The service was pretty good and so were the front desk people. They seemed ready enough to help you out if you had any questions or had any problems. The rooms were pretty clean too- good enough for the rate we paid.

The first time I stayed here, the room was okay. The second time, I began to wheeze after an hour and a half. Upon investigation, I discovered thick spiderwebs between the wall and the air conditioner unit. What really bothered me was the sight of the 5 or 6 eggcases on the window ledge. These were not hard to find; routine housekeeping should, in my opinion, have found these. I checked out (after being charged $20 + tax because I had used the toilet and tried to take a nap, thus disturbing the bedding) after calling around to find another hotel. I will not return, despite the fact that this hotel has the most advantageous location for my meetings in Columbia.
