Stay away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/31/11
I met my sister and her kids at this hotel so we could have a family trip to the zoo. My fiance and I were the first to arrive. First impression from the outside was ok. It definitely was inviting. Then we walk in and the lobby was tiny. The check in desk was next to the automatic door, so it kept opening as we just stood there. A sign on the desk read "Free popcorn and BEER every night between 5-7." I should have known something was wrong there. There was no elevator, just stairs that looked like something from a horror movie. The rooms was dreadful. Stains everywhere, bed, carpet, walls. There was a cigarette burn in our comforter (smoke-free room, ha). The bathroom door would not open all the way, it was hitting the toilet. Once inside the bathroom, we found 5 bugs in the shower. TV was bad too. Free HBO....yeah it was VERY fuzzy and not worth watching. I found out later from my sister, she also had bugs in the shower. The pool, in short, was small. Barely enough room for 5 people (2ft to 5ft). There was an electronic lock on the door that you needed a key code to get through. When we finally got to the pool....a bucket of beer was sitting next to it. The pool was somewhat clean, just tiny. The breakfast had make your own waffles, mini muffins, pastries, fruit, 2 cereals, and some oatmeal (instant). The set up was bad. It was in the tiny lobby with tables & chairs stuffed in. My fiance and I couldn't move around. The plates were in the middle of counter, so we had to squeeze through to get the plates, then squeeze back out to get the food. It was so crowed (not the hotels fault), that we just left and went to the Mcdonald's, 2 buildings down (which was very dirty by the way). In short, stay away from this place/dump. It was dirty, dated, and probably some crime. Just spend the extra for the Hampton Inn.

Terrible!
By Kimberly, 7/30/09
This place is dirty and scary. We stayed here on our way to the beach. We had a large group of family with us and rented 4 or 5 rooms. The most interesting thing is that months later we all received weird charges on our credit cards, all from the same place. We narrowed it down that this hotel was the ONLY place that all of us used our cards. Someone took our card numbers and made charges. We all had to get new cards. I called the Asheboro police and they recommended that no one stay here when in Asheboro - it isn't safe. The police have lots of problems at this establishment. Our family now pays double the price to stay somewhere else - it's worth the piece of mind.

Not what was expected!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/4/09
We waited to last minute to book a room in Asheboro, NC. Everything was booked but I found a room at the Ashebor Inn. I thought I was so lucky but little did I know what a disaster it would be. The Inn was very dirty. The stairwells and the rooms were the worst. The beds in our room had stains all over the box springs, the sheets did not look clean or smell clean. I found hair in my bed. I slept with my clothes on and I would not let my children take showers the next day. We stayed at the pool until it closed so we did not have to be in the room. This was an awful experience. Will never go there again. I would have slept in our car is we could all sleep comfortably. Not even worth the discounted rate that we received.

Ok, but not Super Great.
By sweet_shelly2727, 4/13/09
We stayed here for a weekend trip to the zoo. The staff was very friendly throughout the stay. The room was ok, not overly fancy and really in need of updates. The box springs were stained as were the walls and the bedspreads had cigarette burns in them. The overall cleanliness of the room was good however I didn't feel like the floors were very clean. The furniture was a little stained and somewhat worn. The exercise room was ok, the treadmill was broken the entire stay. The weather wasn't warm enough to use the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained. The breakfast was cold food only, cereal, pasteries, bagels, etc. but we well stocked and maintained. For the money it wasn't a bad deal, but I think next time we will spend a little more and stay in a nicer hotel which was cleaner and better maintained.
