Plantation Inn, Lahaina

The first time we have booked accomodation on the say so of a review such as this one but, we were far from disappointed. This friendly hotel oozes character and atmosphere and along with it's excelent location has to be one of the best hotel of it's type in Lahaina. The staff are friendly and courtious, the rooms are spacious, clean and have air conditioning in fact, the overall package was very very good. Be sure to dine in Gerrards where the menu is uncomplicated and gives you a very highly presented standard of food. Breakfast is usually served at poolside and once again the menu gives a large choice. Take advantage of the hotel's packages, they are great value. Overall any visitor to this hotel would I'm sure be very happy with their stay no matter what the duration, We recommend The Plantation Inn.

Front desk staff were cold and unhelpful. When I asked to do a "web" checkin for my flight the next day the answer was NO. many hotels happily offer that kind of service. Our room was painted red, made it dark- and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. The grounds are lovely, and the location is great, just a block from the main street of Old Lahaina. It was really quiet, considering it's so close to a busy street. breakfast is included and served in the lovely courtyard, but didn't really like the choices offered. Definitely wont be back there and I wont recommend it to anyone.

Quaint historic feeling in a small Hotel. Very conveniently located. Beautiful rooms and gardens. Comfortable furnishings. Nice staff. Wish we could have stayed longer.

With the Plantation Inn, you don't feel like your in the middle of the hustle of Lahaina. Your somewhat transported to a southern plantation in the deep south. In room #12, on the first floor, our lanai opened up to the pool. Our room was of the Victorian theme. The room was neatly kept, but is showing bits of wear & tear. The bathroom was nicely decorated, but the toilet was a bit cramp for a larger person. The queen sized bed was a little hard and uncomfortable for me. Breakfast was served in the pool area, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am daily. The french toast gets our choice for favorite breakfast entree. All in all, this place is very convenient and makes you accessible to the excellent dining and shopping choices along Front Street. Parking is convenient and the building is secured by the newly installed card swipe system. As a added bonus, guest staying at the Plantation Inn are welcome to the amenities at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, about 4 miles away. SGS 06.09.06
