Great Hotel...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/08
I loved this hotel because it had the best service. If you have a problem with anything they will make it disappear. My family and I went down two yrs ago(summer'06)and going again this summer, but our last stay was very relaxing and comfortable. This resort has activities for everyone in the family (children, teens, and adults). The beach is beautiful and the location can't be any better b/c its not as crowded as Destin but its right next to it so you can easily drive not to far to go to restraunts/waterparks/shops/and other activities you enjoy. It has two big pools one with a hottub and the other with a rock slide(kids love this slide!!!)and not to mention the great tasting pool side Manatee Grill. The hotel room service is wonderful and they do a great job... this hotel is very very clean I have to say. If you want to have a wonderful stay in Ft. Walton Beach I would highly recommend stay at this GREAT hotel resort.

I'd go back again
By JeffJ, 06/09/08
We used to stay here quite often from 2001-2004 then we decided to try another area of Florida. Well, we went back May 30-June 3rd and it was still a nice place to stay. It was clean, quiet and the kids had a great time in the pool. The waterslide is small, but great for our 9 year olds. All of the rooms except the first floor have an ocean view. The beach attendants are nice and the beach chairs are free; though limited. We did not eat there, but others said it was good. The parking was great after the 2 weddings left on Saturday but Saturday night was a bear to park. I brought my trailer and as long as it fits in a space they'll allow it. We had a one bedroom suite with two doubles. They would do better to have queens, but I don't think they'd fit. Overall a good place and reasonably priced.

Better think twice!! Before you Book!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/07
Uncourteous staff, Beach condo off-premises had live lizard inside, huge stains in carpet, an overall not-so-good-place to stay. Management staff unreceptive to comments, complaints, showed a "could care less attitude. Nevertheless, after traveling to this location, we opted to stay somewhere else.

Don't ever stay there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/07
We arrived at this resort in 2005 and was so excited!! The outside looked wonderful! Once inside the room... Oh my God!!! The rooms were absolutly horrible! It took them 3 trys to try and get us a clean room and they still failed! The one they gave us, had mold and rust all inside the refrigerator, the sick was black from years of filth , the toilet leaked all over the bathroom floor. It was gross. The comfortors had burn holes in them and the bedroom was very dark and stinky! The entire place smelled of dead fish! I would not even let our children sleep in the beds! We brought blow up beach rafts for the pool and that is what they slept on in the living room and used our beach towels for blankets, because everything looked and smelled dirty. They did have brand new carpet in the living area, that is why we slept in there. It was either that or sleep in our van! I took picture because I wanted our freind to see what it was like, so they didn't make the same mistake we did. Needless to say, we left the next morning and went to the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Destin....now that is a Hotel!! Very, very clean and beautiful. The staff was amazing! It was a little more money but so well worth it :-) Matter of fact, we are going back this April!!

I will not be back !!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/06
Run for your life. My problems started at check in. I checked in expecting an ocean front room. Once I enter my room I might have been able to see the ocean if I had a pogo stick. My room was a first floor room that was next to the pool. The pool was about 3-4 feet off the ground so I had to look up to see the pool and the ocean was somewhere on the other side of the pool. After the pool there was a sand dune about 6 feet higher then the pool. The only thing about this room being ocean front is that it is facing the ocean. My room was design for a person in a wheelchair (handicap room) of course I was not told this at check in. The room had no table or chairs, just a bed and TV. The bathroom was just a large as the living area. Bathroom did not have any where to set my bath items. Had to use the ironing board as a table in the bathroom to set my health and beauty aids. The shower sprayed straight into your face and it could not be adjusted to any other position. We had a king size bed which we did order but, was told that we can get a roll in bed but,of course the hotel had ran out of them. The hotel was full so they did move us into another room until the next day. The room was on the fourth floor with a nice view of the ocean. We were excited and my daughter went to take a shower so she can get ready for her cheerleading competition. Next thing we knew she was screaming mom and dad the water is running out of the toilet. I advised my wife to go in and turn off the water to the toilet because my daughter was standing on the bathtub not dressed. By then the water was running into the room (living area). We call the front desk and they sent a guy up with a bucket and a plunger. He plunged the toilet and the water went down and then he said that my daughter may have flushed the toilet to many times. I never knew that you can flush a toilet too many times is there a limit? Maybe they need to put up a sign or something. So the same guy came back with a wet dry vac and vacuumed the carpet. I told my wife we should give him a tip. I had $2 and my wife was looking in her wallet for more money. Next thing I know the door closed and he was leaving with out saying anything. I went to the door and gave him the $2 dollars and he said that he will be back with some towels. I was going to give him a larger tip when he return with the towels but he never came back. I was going to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt, maybe my daughter put too much paper in toilet. I went to use the toilet and it did the same thing to me. I had to take the lid off and adjust the float in the toilet. The rest of the evening every time we used the toilet we had to take the lid off and adjust the float and flap. I went to the front desk to see a manager. The night manger was in but said that I will have to talk to the main manager in the morning and he will make him aware of the issue. It would have been nice if he knew what room I was in because he never asked. Morning came and it was time for my family and me to check out. For our trouble the manager gave me $40 off of a $300 bill (WOW) thanks for nothing.

Perfect family Vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/06
The Holiday Inn Sunspree was the perfect vacation for our family. We are looking forward to many more summers at the Holiday Inn Sunpree enjoying the sugar white sand and the clear blue water. The staff and accomodations more than met our needs.
