Sanibel Beach Club II, Sanibel

We've been coming for several years! The room spelled like booze!! When I turned down the linens there were small black things under the top sheet. Initially, panicked and though..."bed bugs", but a closer look found little black things between the flat sheet and fitted sheet. Were these sheets even changed? The end tables in the front room had rings of sticky circles on each end table. As I wiped them off, the distinct odor of alcohol reeked from them also. I think the people should not drink alcohol in the rooms and should be made to drink outside! In addition, there were several drunks down at the pool this year....loud and filthy mouths. Could not bring the children down when these folks were there. When a "regular" asked these drunken folks to watch their language, the person was sworn at. Can we ban drinking at this resort? Get rid of the drunks so that it is like it used to be....enjoyable. Did NOT enjoy it at all this year. Ban the booze!! Tried calling the office...No Answer? Had to walk down to get linens replaced. Location is beautiful....but for $1500 week....NOT worth it at all this year. Very, Very disappointed.

It has become a home away from home and a family reunion site for many years. I loved it as a kid, and now my kids love coming here.

We have stayed at many different places on Sanibel, and we have always loved Sanibel Beach Club II the best. It has a super location, free bike rentals, and the staff and apartment are always the best. A very quiet end of the island with groceries or shopping at easy access on bicycle. I wish we had more time for vacation.

This is a great resort! We stayed here in May 2008 - the apartment was spacious, clean, and well-decorated (very "Florida" looking!), the landscaping looked great and was well kept up, and the staff were all very nice and eager to answer our questions. The resort is in a great location - very near the historic lighthouse beach, where the best shelling can be found. Also a fairly short drive from many great restuarants and shops on the island. The resort facilites included a very large pool, a tennis court, and a shuffleboard court - all of which we used frequently. The apartment itself had a roomy kitchen and a comforatble living room, complete with a TV with cable and a DVD/VCR player. There was also a TV in the master bedrooom, and I understand that they will soon be putting one in the guest bedroom as well. Only a couple of minor problems - the beds and pillows were quite firm , so if you are a light sleeper that might not be the best for you. Also, the wireless internet connection in the apartment was sporadic - when it cut out, I walked down to the office and they reset everything so it would work again. However, it cut out a couple of times, so they obviously have a problem they need to fix. Overall, we had a wonderful time in this above-average resort and would certainly stay here again!

This resort has been the best kept secret on the market. I know why it get the 5 star award each and every year,once you go you'll always go back...It's a perfit place to relax.

I stay here every chance I can, friendly people here, clean rooms, up to date, great pool, right on the Gulf, near the famous lighthouse, don't miss it !!! Can't wait to return in October--wouldn't miss the chance

The Beach Club was a wonderful find on such a beautiful island. It was very well kept, clean and comfortable. The location by the beach was great; easy access to all those wonderful sunsets, sunrises and shelling. I cant wait to go back and enjoy the unspoiled beauty this island and the Beach Club has to offer!

My family has been staying at the Beach Club II for spring break ever since I can remember, and we wouldn't do it any other way. I love the accomadations, location, and just the island in general!
