incredible cuisine and atmosphere
I visited the restaurant in 1993 after a day of skiing at Steamboat. My Aunt had picked up the cost of a weekend skiing for us, visiting me when I briefly lived in Golden, Co.
I wanted to at least treat her to a great dinner, and was just impressed with the way this Hotel/Restaurant looked.
The interior is absolutely cozy, lots of traditional european woodwork, and that traditional dome shaped wood fireplace.great wintertime atmosphere, after tired and chilled from skiing all day.the Staff were very cordial, and the food was outstanding. The dish I had was a hunter style venison stew, with ligonberry sauce.I see now on the website it has been maybe "updated" and is now "venison medallions with ligonberry sauce."
I don't remember what my aunt tried, but do remember we split a great dessert.it was a tort made of mixed nuts and honey.Very black forrest, the server explained.
Overall, a great experience at a relatively modest expense.
