More like an elegant mansion than a chain hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/10
Perfect location in Napa, right off the freeway 29 and close walk to downtown, beautiful landscaping, best breakfast with waffles and loaf-type muffins baked fresh daily, homemade chocolate chip cookies nightly, cozy living room with fireplace, very friendly and helpful owners Connie and Tom, crisp and fresh rooms with pillow-top beds...will stay here again and recommend to people of all ages

Like a B & B
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/09
Stayed here with a large group of family and friends. We loved this place. Its well kept, cozy, and an amazing deal. The complimentary breakfast was amazing!! We looked forward every morning to the waffles and home cooked bread. Every afternoon they had warm cookies and hot spiced apple cider. The garden is beautiful with fountains and big beautiful roses. The price was reasonable at less than a $1000 for 4 nights in the biggest suite in the hotel. This includes breakfast and free wi-fi. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Not your typical Best Western
By Jim, 5/7/09
Stayed here for 4 nights and can't say enough but this hotel and it's owners. I was a bit hesitant to book here because I really wanted to stay in a nicer hotel than a Best Western but it was nothing like I expected. This hotel is really a cross between a hotel and a bed & breakfast with 2 buildings each having numerous rooms. The owners, Tom & Connie, as well as there entire staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. They put on a fantastic breakfast each morning with Connie home baking a different amazing bread each morning. Each night there are freshly baked cookies or brownies along with home made apple cider or coffee. The rooms are very large with incredibly comfortable beds. We had a room with a huge bathroom with a decent sized jacuzzi tub and very large seperate stand up shower and seperate toilet. Beside the large bathroom with a sink there was also a large seperate dressing room with another sink and mirror. They also have rooms with fireplaces, as well. I would recommend staying in the seperate building over the main building. More privacy. I highly recommend this hotel.

such a lovely homey Inn
By harriedMom, 12/31/08
Cozy quiet bldg, warm spacious rooms. We were greeted by a warm fireplace and hot cider and the lobby was decorated like your aunt's place. Our room was comfortable and all the furnishings in it seemed like new. All the fixtures in bathroom seemed like new. The mattress was the most comfortable ever! Free breakfast included waffles. Kids welcome. Town felt safe. Couldn't ask for a better price.

Lovely Hotel
By Clinton, 7/29/08
I had a lovely stay at the Elm House. Bedrooms were clean and large enough for myself and my girlfriend. Handy location too. I had to go because it had the same name as the place where I work. Fate? Elm House Creative

Relaxing Little Inn, worth every penny : )
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/22/08
This Inn is such a gem! Don't let the Best Western name scare you away! My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Hawaii. We wanted to break up the flight-time from Florida and reduce the jet-lag, plus we've always wanted to tour Napa Valley. This was such a quiet and relaxing place to begin our anniversary trip! Such a friendly, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable staff and the owners are also on the premises. It's situated just outside downtown and only a hop, skip, and a jump to the wineries of Napa. They provide breakfast every morning complete w/ wonderful homemade waffles, which you can enjoy in the dining area or in the whimsical little garden! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone!

My favorite place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/1/08
This hotel was the best part of our Napa trip. The Elm House was more than anything, a bed and breakfast! The hostess and host were soo nice and helpful. The bedrooms were very large and clean. The breakfast was DELICIOUS and so were the chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. The jacuzzi was awesome! The hotel was super cute....Best hotel experience!

Don't overlook this gem
Located at the southern end of the Napa Valley, Elm House is convenient to everything - downtown Napa, Hwy 29 corridor, and Silverado Trail. More important, however, are the clean, tastefully decorated rooms, the terrific breakfasts (ask for the Belgian waffles), and the chocolate chip cookies at 5:00 pm. It exudes friendliness and warmth! What a value! It felt like home, and it won't be the last time we visit.

Awesome surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/07
This place saved our mid-week travel experience. Coming in from San Francisco, as we left or ran away from the beggars ambiance on every corner in Union Square. Starbucks must have a marketing agreement with these guys, as they always seem to have the white Starbucks cups while asking for handouts in SF....anyway. We went to our favorite place Napa. No reservations, just sought out places to stay, went into The Elm, Best Western...they asked for $140/nite, and not knowing the rates well, we kept looking...30 min of rambling around I returned, my wife got the room at the Elm for $129/nite. Wow nice break....she can do that sometimes...lol Mid week luck i suppose. But the added feature was this place was great more like an Inn, than a Best Western Hotel, decor, rooms, fireplace in lobby, breakfast- kindliness of staff, and recommemded one of the best Italian Restaurants ever- Tuscany's which was a short ride away. Comfortable bed, easy unrestricted internet access. We will not find this price again...but we wont stay anywhere else, would gladly pay the $200/nite in the future...close freeway access and off to the wineries. I go to Napa at least twice a year and have been in Calistoga Spa's, and numerous locations and hotels...this place was the best. Seasonal decor was nice. Recommend a room near the lobby 2nd floor.
