Don't trust the front desk
By Helen, 5/30/11
I asked the young man at the front desk (evening person) about shuttle service from the hotel to Savannah Airport, and he told me that there was no shuttle service from Hilton Head to Savannah. He recommended taking a cab, and he was too willing to give me the name of the cab service. He said it would cost approximately $85, plus a tip, which would have brought it to at least $100. As it turned out, the real estate broker I was working with gave me the name of a shuttle sevice for $45 (and it was a limo that picked me up) and it only cost $45 plus a $10 tip.

Visiting Mouse at night
We had a rough experience here. We had a mouse in our room two nights of our stay. We were told my staff after our first night that a mouse was caught right outside our room. Not So! The next night the same mouse was visiting again. We lost several hours of sleep both nights. Aside from one young woman, the front desk staff were very rude and unsympathetic to our situation. After discussing the situation with the manager, we were compensated for our trip. We don't plan to stay there on our next visit and won't recommend it to anyone else.

What a wonderful vacation!
By blackattackcat, 5/14/10
My husband and I stayed at the Park Lane for 8 nights and we hated to leave. The room was beautifully furnished in a Tommy Bahama motif. The bathroom had all new beige tile and the tub was new. The full kitchen was gorgeous with dramatic black stove and fridge. We love the convenience of having a full kitchen. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We travel alot and believe me, we will return. Housekeeping was extremely nice and the front desk people were great. No breakfast; but, they did have coffee 24 hours a day. They just started back up with a beach shuttle which we would have used. The only complaint is the distance from the beach; but, we only paid $100 a night so...Hilton Head is not big on providing "public" beaches so you have to pay to park and then walk to the beach. Park Lane is a very short drive to the beach (one mile). Their pool is beautiful and the hot tub was very clean and well kept. If you want to stay on the beach at Hilton Head, look at spending around $150-$175 a n ight. We would rather stay somewhere very comfortable and nice and drive one mile to the beach. At home, we are 200 miles from the beach!! It really was no big deal...just throw your beach chairs and cooler in the car and off you go!! We were very impressed with the decor and how nice everything was. Housekeeping was very attentive and friendly. A great place to stay.

this place should have been leveled!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/09
the building was built in 1999 and was a run down mariott resedence inn .The rooms were sold to private investors who have been screwed by the managing company the hotel has cut services ,however the rooms have been refurbished the work out room is very small the breakfast has been cut down there no longer is a beach shuttle so if someone wants to golf ans someone wants to go to the beach you will need to provide another form of transportation shopping is to far to walk as is the beach, the staff is EXCELLENT how ever at times you can sense their frustrations do yourself a favor find somewhere near the beach to stay. youll be near all that hilton head has to offer including resturants and shopping and it will all be within walking distence even though these rooms have been redone this building which was built in 1999 shows its age

Never Ever, Ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/08
Please don't be fooled by these pictures. My boyfriend and I just wanted a quick room to stay in while we were on the island. Our room has a chair that did not fully have fabric over the entire chair leaving the wood exposed. It is so old, you will think you stepped back into 1972. The lofts are cramped, tight and the bathroom had mold. They instantly gave us our money back. Please until they truly upgrade! Stay at the Main Street Inn!

A pleasent trip
By lovetotan, 3/17/08
We were very impressed with the staff when they upgraded our room to the third floor loft when we said we did not feel safe on the first floor; us being 3 young college girls. The staff was amazing and I could not begin to ask for anything better. We felt very safe during our stay. There was a tornado warning one night and the night staff especially Courtney, kept us entertained and reassured that everything was going to be OK. We love that the staff is personal and great to get along with. This is enough to bring us back here next time. The cleaning staff did an amazing job on our room. We left the room a disaster on our way to the beach and when we came back it was completely cleaned up.

Great Weekend Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/07
We took a weekend getaway and stayed at this hotel and the staff was extremely friendly the rooms were very clean. For a last minute trip the price was the best for a three star rating hotel. Hot buffet breakfast was very good. The only dislike was that the rooms are not cleaned until late in the day. Other than that I will be back again. Thanks to Raven and Hershelle for great services. Very Disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/07
After checking in, the first room had no sleeper sofa as reserved. Second room was having a plumbling issue. Room was being aired out with large fans. Third room was very old. Was told on the phone the hotel had undergone recent renovations. Certainly not the case!!! No dresser for storage of clothes. Security was poor. Doors leading to rooms from outside did not lock. Overall, this property was not at all like they would would lead you to believe. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone!! Checked out a day early.

We liked it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/05
My sister and I stayed here in March 2005 during our spring break vacation. Overall it was a really nice stay. The staff was polite and helpful and the room was clean and functional. The loft we stayed in was really nice with 1 bed/bath upstairs and one downstairs. The kitchen was great and saved us quite a bit of money because we could prepare all our food at the hotel. The pool was decent and the complimentary breakfast and Manager's cocktail hour were really good too. It gets pretty crowded in the lobby during that time so head down early! The location wasn't very good. I don't recommend staying here if you want a place within walking distance of a beach. My sister and I had a car there so the drive to a beach wasn't bad at all. Driving can be frustrating though, especially during rush hour and lunch time. This is a great place to stay if you're on a budget and want a quiet, relaxing place to stay.
