Lakeview Inn And Suites Grand F, Grand Forks

Stayed at this motel and ended up taking bed bugs home...I will never stay at this dive again

We stayed over a weekend for a hockey tournament. The staff was courteous. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in and the pillows were like sleeping in rocks. I actually went out and purchased our own pillows. The carpet in our room appeared dirty and had many stains. There were holes in the walls that had been repaired with plaster but were not yet painted. The sprinklers that happened to directly above the bed had never been dusted. The bathroom was clean but the sprinklers, toilet paper holder etc. were completely rusted. The hallways and rooms smelled musty. I actually was going to switch hotels after our first night,as Comfort Inn was the same price and much nicer, but it was too late to cancel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone considering it is the same price as other, nicer hotels in the area.

Our first choice is always the Lakeview Inn & Suites whenever we travel. Our 2 days at the Lakeview Inn & suites in Grand Forks (Wed night and Thur night) were not as comfortable as we'd expected. The king size bed in Room 334 was very hard. However the breakfasts were great. Coffee was good, Eggs are our usual along with English muffins and we had them for breakfast both Thursday and Friday morning. We stayed an extra night and had to move rooms because our room was reserved. We were in room 333. The TV was buzzing so much so that we could not watch our movie. The next morning the coffee was weak, there were no eggs and no English muffins. We were told that the hotel does not provide eggs on the weekend. They ran out of English muffins and because of the extra guests that had arrived for the weekend, people had to stand in line to use the one and only toaster. All in all, not a pleasant breakfast experience. The rooms are more expensive on the weekend and less is offered for breakfast. I would not recommend the Lakeview Inn & suites in Grand Forks if planning to stay there on a weekend

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to travelers. The breakfast is all you could ask for and more. The staff was polite and courteous. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. We spoke to others around the breakfast table and their comments were the same. The hotel has a great location as we walked over to Menards and Kohl's. The rooms as well as the bathrooms were very clean and up to date. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and look forward to coming back again.

Great service and rooms for a great price. Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Really appreciated that they called us ahead of time to let us know that the pool was having work done, but the hottub was working. The pool was down the first night of our stay as they were putting in a new liner, it was fun for the kids to swim in a "new" pool for the rest of our stay. They said they are about half way through renovating. Their honesty and service were above and beyond. Great selection at breakfast, kids really enjoyed "making" their own waffels. Their staff won us over, and we will be staying with them as our first choice whenever we are in town.

Wasn't sure if I should stay here after reading previous reviews, decided to give it a chance, and to my delight found that they were in the process of a large remodel. My room had new furniture, paint, and carpet. After asking about the remodel we found that the hotel still had many more things still in the works. On top of that the room was very clean and staff went above and beyond to meet my needs throughout my stay. A very pleasant change from other hotels I have stayed at.

This particular hotel was on my "Do not stay list" but I was without much choice and had to stay. Upon arrival I found that there were changes going on through out the hotel and I was starting to become a little less sceptical. The staff was very accomodating and placed me on the third floor where all new carpet, bed linens, and furniture were in my room. I also ventured down to the pool area and to the breakfast bar the next morning. The pool area was not of the highest caliber, but was good for my wants and needs and the breakfast bar was one of the better ones I have eaten at (not the powdered donuts and stale bread varieties). I will have to say I was very happy with my stay and will stay there again. (only because they are making strives to make it better)

They placed us in a room by the pool. It was totally disgusting. It was supposed to be a NO smoking room. They must have put the "no smoking" sign up just before our arrival. Our friends were in a room beside us. The room was smelly and dirty. Our kids thought the red paint on the rug beside the bed was blood. The rug was so gross, we could not bare to take our shoes off. We left immediately and will never return. But before doing so, two of the people working there told us that the owner of the hotel needed to be reported. They also told us not to fill out a questionaire as the owner would be the only one to read them (and then dispose of the feedback). I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I have stayed at another Lakeview and it was fantastic. The owners of this chain need to take their name off this hotel. NEVER GOING BACK. YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO STAY THERE!

The first question I asked upon arrival was, if they had a hot tub and the reply was "yes". However, the tub water was hot but the whirlpool system didn't work thus, not beneficial for my sore back after driving 7 hours. I could of sat in a bathtub somewhere else. Hotel is much in need of renovations. Paid closed to $100 for a night due to no reservations. Could have found a better hotel for the money! Was lied to by front desk about hot tub. 1 our of 5 Stars

We only stayed one night but it was a great hotel, staff was very friendly and overall the hotel was very cozy. Big bathrooms and having the closet was great. Good location, room was clean,quiet, very enjoyable stay....wish we could have stayed longer. I will defintely stay there again. Thanks for the great hospitality!
