DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY
By ,
They overcharged me at checkout for stating that the exchange rate wasn't calculated correctly when we paid at checkin. Location is on the outskirts of town. Beach access is dangerous and unclean. They need to scrub the algae on the water access as I almost slipped getting in. Food is old and dry...it has been sitting in the serving trays many hours and not stirred. When you DO go get food, someone is there to watch you....very uncomfortable. Best advice is to save you time and money and go somewhere else. The food isnt worth the $60/day all inclusive. Hotel staff is also not very helpful or knowledgable of anything.

UNBELIEVEABLE
By ,
We had the honeymoon package. Even if it is not your honeymoon - say it is, just to get this package. We were treated like rock stars all weekend. Upon entering we found that our name were on a billboard in the hotel lobby (Welcome home & Congradulations). The bartender met us at the front desk with a delicious drink. Upon arriving in our room we found every surface of our room was covered in flowers. Champagne chilling, and a basket of fresh fruit. The jacuzzi on the balcony had candles everywhere. And the guy who filled our refrigerator daily, way over filled, we could not drink the number of beverages that he provided. There was special dinner given just for the two of us, on the gazebo on the ocean. There are not enough words in the english vocabulary that can express how gourmet this meal was. Besides the setting being an increadible romantic experience, the food very much excentuated it. The staff went above and beyond at every chance. This has always been a divers paradise for our trips....but I wonder if they will believe that my husband and I will get married once a year, just to get the honeymoon package! - talk to Enrique - he will set you up.

Totally Awesome Hotel
By ,
I have been on many vacations and have stayed at many hotels/resorts. I have to say that Hotel Cozumel and Resort was definetely A-1 . My 27 year old daughter and I loved it from the minute we walked in. The staff greeted us with a tropical drink and it just got better from there. The grounds were very beautiful and well kept. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely nice and curteous and went above and beyond to be accomodating to us. It was close to town and had many activities to keep you busy. The best part ? THE FOOD !! It was superb !! I can not say enough good things about this hotel and would not even think of booking anywhere else on the beautiful island of Cozumel.

This is the real deal!
By ,
Everyone at the resort was so accomodating. If you had any question it could be answered. The staff was very helpful! The evening entertainment was great, clean property, taxi's available at any hour, food good, you almost don't have to leave the property!

Booked it again!
By ,
OK Here's the deal: We've stayed here twice before and I just booked it again. It is not a GREAT place, but for the price and location, it can't be beat. I go there with my son (12) to dive. The access to diving is unbeatable. So convenient. GREAT diving. That said, I would never bring my wife. She has high expectations with vacationing and I don't think she would like Hotel Cozumel. While the rooms are clean, they are certainly not great. No frills, just a good room. The pool is big. Lots of kids activities. The bar is good. Food is not. We usually eat breakfast there and sometimes lunch. Never dinner. There are too many good restaurants nearby. Go to this place for the diving and the bed (maybe the pool). Great place for a spring breaker or the diver.

Re-booking for our third stay
By ,
We stayed at the Hotel Cozumel in 05 & 07, before & after Katrina hit. We really enjoyed our stay both times, and have just booked our 08 vacation. We found the staff to be very courteous & friendly if you took the time to learn to communicate with them. The food was nothing to write home about, but it was tasty and plentiful. We found the grounds & rooms to be nicely maintained, and the pool was excellent. The entertainment was not my cup of tea, but it generally was over by 10:00 and things were nice and peaceful thereafter. The location is PRIMO, walking distance to downtown, staggering distance from the clubs. Our only complaint was that the hotel bars close earlier than advertised, so we missed our nite-cap,,but oh well. As far as value goes, try to book a 7 day vacation anywhere in the U.S. for less than $1000.00 and see what you get.

Good but needs improvement
By ,
I've never been so undecided about a hotel. The overall feel of the place is beautiful and warm. The food was mediocre at best. The location was ideal, set a mile from the downtown. The pool was very nice but warning: the staff fall in love with the microphones and speakers. All afternnon they scream BINGO numbers in two languages and the sound pierces the walls of your room. NO NAPS! The evenings were peaceful and we never heard a sound after 10. Our MLT representative was the BEST we have ever had and showed up daily. The hotel staff was courteous but somewhat aloof. The rooms were made up promptly but were a bit old fashioned. The balconies were great but the bathrooms looked like they were from the 70's. I guess a trip is what you make it. We had a blast, but would I go back to the Hotel Cozumel and Resort? Maybe.... I told you about our ambiguity on the place....

get away
By ,
I stayed here to join others.... I had trouble checking in, seems they lost my reservations and would not even consiter trying to make it right, dispite me having a copy of my reservation in hand... the food was not up to par. if fact I would have rather gone into town and paid for food than eat for free here. At night they start up a band to entertain those that want to party, trouble is it is so loud that those wanting to sleep can't . The service is wonderful, which is the norm for Cozumel. I would NOT return to this hotel if I had a choice.

Gorgeous hotel, disgustingly rude staff.
By ,
Upon arrival the hotel looked like a winner, especially after the hurricane. Sadly, almost every person employed there lacked kindness, consideration and what seemed - any desire to keep their job. Thankfully I brought a large water bottle along that I could refill throughout the day, because forget ever being served a glass while dining in one of the TWO restaraunts. Do NOT be fooled, they consider a poor little snack bar, hosted by glaring "cooks" as a restaraunt. The first morning I woke up to get in a quick work out, and found that their "gym" is actually 3 broke down machines from the first production of all exsisting work out equipment. The second night I could barely sleep with the "show" that was going on out by the pool. The most disappointing ammenity was by far the "beach". After walking through a tunnel to get to the other side of the road, you are greeted with an over sized sandbox and no safe way to jump in for a quick swim, ESPECIALLY for children. This leaves only the "largest pool in cozumel" for a nice swim, but if you want a skin disease jump right in! I saw a pool boy cleaning the pool once in 7 days. The rest of the days we witnessed cups, debris, even toilet paper resting at the bottom of the pool. If you want to snorkle, bring your own equipment, I wished to snorkle one day and they had flippers that would only fit size 10+ men, nothing for a woman. If you're interested in the tennis court, dont be. It actually doesn't exsist. If this hotel were located in the U.S, it would surely be sued by false advertisement. Thank goodness the rest of the Island was worth seeing, otherwise this trip would have been a complete bummer.
