A combination of minor annoyances
I stayed with my family. Our first room had a musky, smoky smell that my wife couldn't tolerate, we got moved to the third floor the next night. That was the major issue, which was resolved quickly. After that, minor problems include: wifi does not reach everywhere in the hotel. Luckily, each room also had a network cable you could plug in ... but for over half our stay, ours didn't work despite several complaints. The free breakfast isn't anything to write home about. The third floor hallways were hot, no AC, as well as the elevators. And there were very few outlets in the room and NONE around the bedroom area! I'm relatively used to having to unplug a lamp or clock to plug in my CPAP breathing machine, but here the lamps and clock were wired directly into the wall. I had to call the front desk and get an orange extension cord to run across the floor from the sitting area to plug it in. The bathtubs have these scalloped shaped shelves that jut out at least 6-8" into the bathing area, including on low down where you would want to sit down for a bath. The kids could bathe OK, you can shower OK, there's plenty of shelf space but I wouldn't even attempt to try to squeeze in for a soak myself. My wife was put off by the rudeness of one of the breakfast staff when a harried mother asked her to please wipe off a filthy table, only to be told that there were clean tables in the lobby. This is the same staff that chased me out because I walked into the breakfast area BAREFOOT. Oh, horrors!
But.....it was cheaper than others in the area, so you get what you pay for. The vast majority of the staff were friendly and polite. So for the money, I would stay again.
