You get what you pay for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/06
This hotel is perfect for families who aren't planning on spending a lot of time in their rooms. If you are looking for any sort of luxury, this isn't the place! The rooms are mediocre and damp and the furnishings are old and tattered. Having said that, it really is about getting what you pay for. The front desk service was great and the food at the hotel buffet breakfast was fine (kids eat free) -- a perfect way to grab a bite before heading over to the Disney theme parks. The maids kept the room very clean and gave us extra towels everyday. The room we were in had a kitchenette and that was a huge bonus. My kids had a blast in the pool and the movie nights are definitely fun. Beware though -- the pool is open everynight until 11pm, so if you are a light sleeper, request a room away from the pool area. It gets pretty loud over there! It is refreshing however, after a long day at Disney, to come back to the hotel and jump into the pool! I know my husband wishes we had stayed somewhere nicer, but truly, if you're just doing the Disney thing all week, this place is fine.

Unhappy Camper
By DeLance, 4/1/08
We selected the location based on proximity to the theme parks, cost and reputation for being kid friendly. We got there late our first night and the sheets were stained on one of the beds. We asked for the sheets to be changed and the security guard brought us new sheets but we had to change the queen beds ourselves ... great after a day of traveling with two small children! The next day we asked for the floors to be mopped. We even tipped the housekeeper. However, upon our return we saw that the floor still appeared to be dirty and had hair on it ... great for kids. We called the front desk to have them mop the floor. A gentleman came up with a bunch of bath towels and a bottle of disinfectant spray. He sprayed the floor and wiped up the floor with the bath towels! The towels that he didn't use, he left for our use for the next morning when we bathed. I couldn't help to believe that the bath towels have a dual use as rags as well. Our last day there was more hair in the bathroom from the cleaning person and there was hair in the bath towels. I notified the manager of the problems that we incurred. He appeared to be concerned but did not offer any remedies to the situations other than he would file a report to housekeeping. We will never stay there again.

Good Enough..that's it
By Indiana Travelers, 7/30/11
We picked this hotel, due to the closeness of the theme parks and shuttle.. But dont think the shuttle is only for this hotel, but others also..So when you see it stop at two other hotels and CRAM people in, dont think twice.. we couldn't believe the driver slammed on his brakes causing a child and father fall to the front, they recieved no appology, but once we arrived to the park, the driver mentioned tips.. yea right.. We chose to pay the theme park parking on the next day, The hotel was good enough for the price, outdated, outlets were very loose, toilet had trouble flushing, and room decor.. well... old also. Our room was outside the roof top with all the air conditioners.. very loud, then upon checkout I was charged a service fee, ended up being 38.00 more than I had thought, I asked about the fee, front desk said, "You signed the paper" Well.. I just wanted to get into the room, we checked in late. She still didnt explain the charge.. Guess I will eat that.. if you stay here.. read the fine print.. even if you arrive in the middle of the night.. beware.

Unsatisfied, Unhappy people.
By Mary Kate, 1/18/11
This hotel is disgusting. First, we checked in and there is NO bellhop. I was very disappointed in this, considering when I usually go to disney I'm staying at the Polynesian or the Beach and Yacht club. The hotel brought in a bad Impression when you first walk in because it's a arcade and a movie kid club. The breakfast and Apple-bee's? Disgusting. I've never ate at a nastier place in my life. Then, as walking to the room with OUR luggage. Before hand we saw on the internet this had a "waterside" and we where disappointed to see it was a stupid pool with sprinklers going in it. The "shuttle" to Disney rarely comes and it's much easier to get a taxi and drive. The "tickets" for Universal Studios at the hotel is actually a voucher. So, your saving actually nothing by getting the tickets there because you have to stand in a 30 minute line at universal to activate the voucher. The internet is terrible. "High" speed is actually "Low" speed. The hotel is not very well updated either. The bunk beds look like they where bought years ago, and the Tv's are very outdated. The maid service is terrible. As I was getting ready to check out, I found in a cabinet a pair or a man's underwear. This is the grossest thing I've ever seen because there where no men in my room while I was there. The shower is okay, and there are many outlets which are the only pluses I can think of, and the area is very nice. Next to Uno, Bahama breeze, great restaurants. CHEEP hotel though. I will never stay here again. It smells funny and lot's of hispanics. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a crappy, cheep, hotel.

Great for the kids
By Craig Ingold, 9/2/06
Room had a small "kids suite" with bunk beds, and a king size bed for mom & dad. They had a nice pool, and showed a movie by the pool after dark.

Very Disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/08
Their website really promotes them; however, it was very disappointing. Upon checking in their was only one person at the front desk so it was a long wait, but very efficient when it was our turn. The whole resort seemed kinda dirty, and our room wasn't cleaned every day. Our toilet was backed up upon checking in and it took a whole day to unplug (never really worked right and overflowed everywhere on the 3rd day). It took two days of requesting an extra blanket for my daughter's bed. Pool appears nice, but very dirty and cloudy. The shuttle is awful, up to 45 minutes late at times and sometime 1/2 hour early, but doesn't wait. It took 1 hour to go 1 mile!!! Would not recommend or stay again.

As a typical failure, this hotel is very succesful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/10
It was a nightmare to stay at this hotel. As a amputee, I lost a very important shrinker at hotel, which I need to use every night, on the second day I stayed. Without it,I can not walk normally and have much more pain on the next day. And I believed it is caused by the careless home maid, definitely not on purpose. So we told the manager about this and said we understand that could happen. Everyone could made mistake. However the worse thing happened for the rest of our stay. Just the day after this missing shrinker, our room is not cleaned at all: the towers are not changed, shampoo is not refilled, floor is not vacuumed, trash bag is empted. Then we called the manager to come to take a look. She felt very sorry about that and offered us complimentary breakfast. We refused for that since we donot want to use this to get any benefit. We just want to let the manager to know that they did not provide good service at all, which I believe this is on purpose this time. The next day after the bad room service, I lost another T-shirt,which is my favorite one at night. After we told the front desk, they sent a security guy to check and we did not receive any feedback about that. When I checked out the hotel, I told the manager in charge about our stay. He said: “We are not responsible to anything lost during your stay. You could put it in your pocket and lost it outside.” Holiday inn did a great job to make my tough life tougher!

Would Go Again! However...
By drz, 7/13/05
The hotel was really nice the staff were great and there was LOTS for the kids. The dive in movies were A+ and the Inside theater was A+ also. Pools were clean heavy on the chorine but clean! Food expensive! Go to the Ponderosa or the likes. Rooms: We had a VIP Kids Suite it was not VIP at all. The kids room has a window over the bed that opens and the parent cannot tell it has been opened. The kids door is not visible from the parents bed it is right next to the exit. The VIP kids room are not safe in my opinion for kids in this day and age. The other room they moved us to was a regular kids suite and it was EXCELLENT!! A+A+ Much better than the VIP room. It was bigger had a bigger TV and Bed! The VIP adult section reminded me of a cramped cruise ship cabin. C- All in all a Great place for the kids and whole family we will go back!

not a good experience.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/11
The hotel experience there was terrible. My famliy will never go back again. Our room was right by a garbage dumpster and we were woken up at 5am every morning from the noise. We asked to move but they could not accomodate us. The shuttle to take us to disney was late and over crowded or did not show up. We spent lots of money on cabs because the shuttle services where not available to us as advertised. When we talked to staff there about our concerns the staff didn't seem to care and didn't do anything to make things better for us.

won't go back
By Amy, 8/24/09
The rooms were clean, but not as nice as the picture. Pool was nice. Close to Disney. Don't go for the fitness room. It was not open 24 hours as stated on web-site. Had to have security open it for me. One day no air conditioning in fitness room or towels, but fixed it for next day. Picture on web-site very misleading!!! Only two treadmills, a bike and elliptical. No weight equipment! No chemicals to clean off equipment or sanitizer for hands. Outside bar not open while we stayed.
