Comfort Suites Universal South, Orlando

I was really afraid after a read some reviews. Nevertheless, I know that not every experience is the same. We got there 2 hours before the check in time and surprisingly the room was ready. At 2 PM we were already settle down and enjoying the wonderful pool and a Piña Colada. Our fridge was not working and it took only 15 minutes to get a new one. The staff we ran into in the hall ways, front desk, the little store, and the bar at the swimming pool was always smiling and ready to help. The maintenance guy that changed the fridge for us was very nice and helped us very quickly. The room was clean, modern, spacious, and taken care of. They changed the dirty towels and sheets the first morning. Breakfast was really nice. The environment of the hotel and around the pool was really cozy and nice.The place is well located. It's 3 miles away from Universal and you can find restaurants and a Walmart Super center 1 minute away. Definitely I would come back there and I suggest you to select this hotel. I am a frequent traveler and I have stayed in other hotel chains and I can tell you that I really enjoyed my staying in this hotel.

Checked in on Friday. No toilet paper in the bathroom. Called front desk. Went to dinner. Came back, no paper. Called front desk, waited 30 minutes, went down to front desk to get it myself. Went to the park on Saturday, came back at night. Room not cleaned. Complained to front desk. Got the standard reply - Sorry about it, no one to clean the rooms at night. Asked for fresh towels. Got none. Checked out on Sunday, complained to the girl at front desk about the bad experience and the girl's response was that she will take up the matter with senior management. (Bull crap - In other words 'Get lost. I don't want to hear about your complaints.') I have stayed in other hotels from the same group of hotels (Choice Hotels) in Orlando itself. They offer better service for the same price. Stay way.

This place is dirty, needs updating big time. All rooms are exterior, no inside hallways and very loud. Our first room had cracks in the tub. The staff caulked the cracks and upon reuturning to the room the fumes were overbearing. We changed rooms and the air conditioner would not work. We called the front desk and they advised it would be fixed when we returned. Upon returning the air still did not work. Spoke to the staff at front desk, was told nothing they could do. I asked for a fan was told they did not have any and sorry. The breakfast is ok. Get there early to eat, by 7:00 am. or you will be standing in a small room with about 200 of your closet friends just trying to get close enough to get some food. There are only about 20 seats in the dining area, it is not woth the trouble. The pool was nice, I would not go back!!! Don't do it.

Easy access to interstate, decent distance to theme parks. Nice location in medical park. It's not a 5 star motel, but it is a decent 3 star that I paid less than $65 a night for a family of 5 (the Disney motels don't want any more than a family of 4). Nice pool area, Super WalMart just down the road. Not many eating places nearby, had to drive over to the International Drive area to find more eating places-couple miles. We felt safe there. Free breakfast sometimes overwelmed with people on weekends. We watched the space shuttle take off from the east balcony-cool.

Upon staying for a week in this hotel various things happened. Are room was locked during every incident and the only people that had acess were the maids. Are room was non-smoking and after coming back from a long day, our room reeked of some. Drinks we had purchased had been drank and left in the same place. Our suitcases had been went through various times with things taken out and left scattered through out the rooms. Upon ariving we waiting an hour for our room even though we were actually 3 hours late to check in.

My family stayed at this Comfort Inn while on vacation this year. We felt with all of the expenses that we incurred at attractions in Orlando, that the hotel was a value to stay at. We didn't spend much time in our room. However, our room needed to be refurbished and brightened up with some fresh paint and new carpeting. If you appreciate an updated clean room this is NOT the hotel for you. Be prepared for the $2.50 per day tax that they add on to your bill. We were not aware of this and were extremely dissatisfied with it. The pool area was clean and we enjoyed the smoothies and drinks at the tiki bar. A Wal-Mart is down the road and we suggest that you purchase food articles and fill the refrigerator that is in the room. A rental car is needed to get to and from the area's attractions.

This place was awesome! I would recommend it to anyone, if you want luxury then it's not for you, but it is very nice if you don't want the Ritz. The pool is the best part, with a great hot tub and a great environment with a pool bar which has food and drinks! You'd want to rent a car if you want to go anywhere, that's the only downfall. The rooms were great, big and very clean. They charge you a resort fee of $3.00 a day or so, so don't forget that in your budget, because we didn't know about it until the end. If you have kids, they'd love it too! But if you're just with someone special it can be very romantic! Ask to stay near the pool and have a pool view, it's the best option. Staff is very friendly!

I was so scared after reading some reviews for this hotel and realizing that this is where we were about to spend our vacation. I tried to change it with our travel agent, but we were to late. We arrived and were very surprised. The pool area was wonderful. Our room was clean and modern. Our bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great. I had read comments about the noise, but we never had a problem with noise. It is close to everything if you have a car. If you want to Ritz...stay at the Ritz. If you want a clean, comfortable place to stay that won't kill your budget, this hotel is a great option.

We had a pleasant stay here. Dont agree with the other reivews - we found everything to be fine. Rooms were comfy & location is ok. We were too late for the tiki bar which is the only regeret. Yes, peolpe do try to sell you time-shares, but they're not pesky. Breakfast was alright but very crowded. Guess that means lots of people do stay here - maybe they should increase the seating arrangements for breakfast. Overall, we had a good stay here.

PROS Staff were very nice and helpful. Free Breakfast was great. Pool was wonderful. Tiki bar food and drink cheap and delicious. Linens and Towels plentiful. CONS Bathroom could have been cleaner. More blankets for pull-out bed. SUMMARY Dont be afraid. Its not Disney, but nice anyway.
