Would stay again!
By LbAp, 2/15/11
We stayed in a king suite with jacuzzi. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was even a mini fridge and microwave that we weren't expecting. Very large continental breakfast with a nice variety of foods, including waffles and sausage. The pool was a perfect temp!

Needs Improvement
By Kyle and Holly, 3/17/08
My mother and 3 sisters (1 was pregnant) stayed here for a little retreat for the 5 of us. I asked in advance, over a week to have a cot and fridge in our room. When we arrived neither one was in our room so I asked that it be done before we returned from dinner. The fridge was there (which took 12 hours to get cold) but no cot. Upon inquiring again about a cot, the desk clerk said that there were none available because the cleaning staff just didn't have time to get one ready before they left for the day. They didn't have time to get one cot ready which I had asked for 10 days in advance? We ended up sleeping 3 grown sisters to a bed. I will say that the place was clean and at least for the time we were there (sun night) the poolside room was quite. We probably won't return for our 3rd annual retreat.

Worst Hotel Experience
By thumper, 2/27/08
The best western in jenison is the worst hotel I've ever spent the night at, My girl and I had reserved one night there a week ahead so that we could have some peace and quiet and enjoy the swimming pool for the weekend, instead when we got there the pool and rec area was completey filled with a large party of chlidren and adults consisting of maybe fifty people or more, it apeared that the whole area was made to accomidate this large group of people because their things were spread all through out the rec area, not only was the pool and hot tub filled beyond limit with screaming children but the whole top floor on our side was also filled with these guests making it virtually impossible to enjoy any peace and quiet durring our stay, after calling the front desk to ask for our money back so we might be able to try a different hotel, the lady replied by saying that this was a hotel and that we couldn't expect everything to be perfect, and then coninued to tell us that no one else on that floor had complained about any noise, I wasn't aware that it was proper hospitality to call a paying customer a liar even before considering that maybe the reason no one else complained was because everyone on our floor except for us were the from the party that was making all of the noise! The hotel made no effort to try to accomidate us in any way or even appologize, I just thaught that maybe since I was paying nd extra twenty or thirty dollars for a pool that I wasn't even able to use that maybe they could have atleast offered me a discount.

Terribly Disappointed
By Jill Robertson, 1/13/08
My family chose to stay at this location because it was in-between relatives homes. We had to ask the staff for everything: use of the pool, password for internet access, etc. Also, I booked the hotel based on amenities and was sorry to find out that this hotel has unusual policies regarding their pool. They issue bracelets to the number of people registered to your room and monitor the pool area to be sure only those with bracelets are there. Notice: I did not only specify the pool. Visitors are not allowed in the common area near the pool, not just the pool. I was not notified of this at check-in nor on their website. Sadly, our pizza-by-the-pool tradition was broken because my two sisters were not allowed to have dinner by the pool with us and watch my kids swim, let alone join them for a swim. Because of this regulation, other adults were giving their bracelets to visiting children, causing a pool full of children with no adult supervision. Older children were pushing, splashing and using foul language and the hotel staff did nothing to stop the behavior. They were only there to monitor the bracelets. Please keep in mind, my stay was in January and the hotel was nowhere near full occupancy - whereas the bracelet rule might be better understood and accepted during the busier months. I will continue to stay in hotels when visiting family in the GR area - probably 4-6x/year, but will never return to this hotel.
