Ehhhh it was ok at best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/09
It was okay, kinda dated decor, room was clean but old. Marriott is better across the street. Wayy to expensive.

Location is the only plus
By Kelly Faith, 11/18/08
It is in a good location for the Albany area and tends of have a lot of meetings there, but honestly, it is so outdated that anyone wanting the amenities of a modern hotel will be dissapointed. Average and reasonable service, prices inflated due to the capital district area, be careful booking a function here - service was sub par.

WHAT A HOTEL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/31/08
WOW! THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! FROM THE TIME YOU DRIVE IN WITH ALL THE FLOWERS AND TREES TO THE TIME YOU LEAVE IT IS JUST AMAZING! I WAS AT A WEDDING A FEW WEEKS AGO AND THE SERVICE/FOOD WAS JUST OUT OF THIS WORLD. I'VE NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH HOSPITALITY. JUST GREAT!

Nice Suprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/9/08
I needed a place for a couple of nights and a friend suggested the Desmond. I was very pleased with the prompt and friendly service but, my biggest thrill was the food. They have an up to date menu and the preparation was superb. Great food, great location and great sevice. I'll return every visit.

This place is the pits!
By YouSaidIt, 3/25/08
Oh man..where do I begin?? First your eyes are assaulted by the 80's floral print wallpaper in pink and greens that is accented by the forest green carpeting. The front desk was staff was not friendly by any means, either. We took the kids down to the TINY pool in the evening only to encounter the strictest lifeguard on this planet. He yelled so much and so loud that he made my 3 year old cousin cry. Also, we were tossing our child up in the air (a foot above our heads) and the lifeguard made us stop since that is dangerous. Um, yeah...okay. We left the pool since it was being policed by a very, anal, bored person. The next morning we went to the restaurant downstairs for breakfast. The buffet was to die for...literally. The food was horrendous!!!!!!!! I was so glad when we finally checked out. The bedspread is so outdated it made bedtime awful. Please do NOT stay here. Overpriced and just awful.

great place, loved it.
By Chris, 6/22/07
Went up to West Chester to visit QVC and everything around QVC was sold out, but they had a cancellation at Desmond. Nice people, quiet rooms, luxurious beds. quick checkin and checkout. A class act. We loved it and will add it to our list of good hotels to visit when going to QVC.

The place was very nice, and convenient for what I needed. All around a pretty nice place! I would stay there again. Next time I got to try out the indoor pool though!

Great Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/06
The overall cleanliness and customer service really stands out. Suprisingly delicious food in the resturant. The atmosphere is amazing and compared to other hotels in the area, none can compare.

Would go back any time.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/9/05
I was there for a wedding in the area. I was too late to request a handicapped accessible room.I need a shower chair so I might bathe and the serve was exta-ordnadary.They came right away and meet all my needs with effecicy and speed. All of their staff was above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend them to everyone staying in that area.

Nice Retreat For A Get A Way Weekend!
By Susan, 5/23/05
It was beautiful inside and outside. The bedrooms had comfortabale canopy beds which made me feel like a queen. The decoor was like a bedroom in a beautiful home, not a motel/hotel room. Every dining room was beautiful and I ate at three different ones over the two day period I was there. The food was fantastic and the services were awesome. The pool and exercise room were added bonuses. It was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I would go back again!
