5 reviews for Marriott Detroit Metro Airport, Romulus
Some good, Some bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/06
I recently spent the past couple of nights at this hotel. First, let me say the facility is clean and has a nice warm feeling. The lobby is nice and cozy with an expensive feel to it. The people at check in were very nice and extremely helpful for finding my way to the room. I do think the Hotel could be laid out a little better. The walk to my room took quite a few min because the hallways were short and required many turns. The room was very nice and had a warm rich feeling. Everything was laid out well and there was plenty of room considering this is not an extended stay facility. The bed was great and felt new along with all the linens. The main complaint I have and will be contacting Marriott hotels is paying for internet. This is without a doubt the dumbest thing I have ever seen. The only free net was in the lounge and lobby. The internet was $9.95/day. Considering the cost of stay at the hotel as $170.00/night without taxes and charges is unbelievable. I can go to the Super8 and get free hight speed internet for 69.00 per night. I will not be staying at another Marriott just for principal.

Great Hotel!
By AA, 10/30/06
We stayed two nights. This hotel had recently been renovated. Everything was spotlessly clean and in perfect working order. The rooms are a bit small, but very adequate for a stay of 2-4 days. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had the information we requested from maps to local events to the hours of operation for local businesses like restaurants, and stores. This hotel is close to the airport and interstate making our stay very convenient. We did NOT hear a single airplane while inside the hotel. The surrounding area is clean and not run down so we felt safe. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and plan on using it again in the future!

A good experience for the money I paid
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
Likes: Check-in and out was fast efficient. Price: Found a great room rate on priceline. Nicely decorated rooms: It was clean, comfortable and home like. Friendly service: The front desk clerk went out of her way to inform me of the activities occuring within the city upon check-in. The shuttle was extremely fast. The boarding pass kiosk was a nice touch. Excellent parking Dislikes The food, the food, the food The housekeeper knocked once and then proceeded to come in to clean the room at 8:00am in the morning. She insisted that she had to do all the rooms on this floor by noon before she got off work. This happened two days in a row. Make certain to put the privacy sign outside your door if plan to sleep past 8:00am Location: A little difficult to find, the hotel should invest in more signage for those driving their own vehicle.

Great Rooms!
By Joe D., 07/13/06
The rooms have just been renovated and are excellent. Great beds and fixtures. The pub and restaurant are good. There are very few restaurants in the immediate vicinity, however, so be prepared to drive 5-10 miles if you want some decent choices.

Marriott quality
By Viva, 07/08/06
Marriotts across the country are being renovated and exceeding expectations. Elegant, quality, service, and luxury are new words to describe the new Marriott. The same great things that you would expect of Marriott are still there, but the new updates are welcome additions!
