Read the fine print-Old & Dilapidated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/07
You can request an ocean view condo but you get what they give you even though you pay the higher price. The surrounding buildings are old and falling down. They are abandonded by the Ranch. Pool operation is intermittent, pool side furniture is old and junky. There are much nicer condo's nearby with friendlier and more truthful staff. Some of the condos are nice but some have never been updated. Sunsets are nice, views are great (if you walk down to the beach). No restaurant on site, no jacuzzi, local cable system doesn't work unless your owner has Oceanic Cable.

A little piece of heaven!
By nana, 8/7/07
We felt we had a little piece of heaven dropped into our laps when we found this resort. We actually rented one of the condo's from a Dr. and his wife that own their own condo, but the place was kept up by the resort. I would love to make this my home when we move there. Our visit to this place made me want to move there as well as my husband. I had enough space, comfortable sleeping area, quiet neighbors, beautiful sunsets, peaceful morning sunrises, and the sound of the ocean coming through the doors was the most wonderful thing to wake up to! Our trip to the neighboring towns was so convenient. 20 minutes in either direction and you had all the amenities you needed, as well as a store right at the resort. And if you needed any help with anything, Nick was always there to help. Very friendly staff with true Hawaiian spirit and love to share!

A place to RELAX
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/20/05
Our condo was right on the golf course near the place where you picked up your carts. This meant early morning noise, but being near the crashing surf almost made up for it. A first floor room meant listening to the sprinkler system at odd hours during the night. "The Ranch" was about a 10 minute drive, and going there for lunch was pricey but worth it. The grocery store there (and elsewhere on the island) was small and somewhat expensive. On property was a small but had a nice pool, a gift shop and a convenience store. The convenience store had very little in the way of food, which was too bad since the condos (at least ours) had a full kitchen. Ours also had a TV in the living room and bed room, and a VCR in the living room. Ours had a phone but the sign at the check-in counter mentioned some rooms did not have phone service. Our unit was not air conditioned but did have ceiling fans, which in April kept us cool enough (with open windows) most of the time. The pool was a welcome respite in the hot afternoons. I was amazed at the turkeys walking around on the property, as well as the abundance of frogs on the golf course at night. We never did see the small deer that supposedly wander in the area. As is the case on many of the Hawaiian islands, there were also many stray cats. There were many buildings, a second gift shop and a restaurant that were closed/abandoned. This gave parts of the property a run-down feel, but overall everything that was being used was well maintained. The sunsets can't be beat. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax (and perhaps play golf) this is it. If you are looking for luau's, surfing and shopping, try another island.
