Metropark Hotel Kowloon - Free WiFi in Public Areas, Kowloon City

We booked well in advance requesting adjoining rooms for my wife, myself and three young children. The children were asleep when we arrived at the Hotel so had to put them to bed straight away. The rooms smelt smoky and throughout the night wafting smoke kept us awake, so next morning I informed Reception that I thought the previous guests had been smoking in the room, and asked for the room to be cleaned. After a big day touristing (and having to put children straight to bed) I noted nothing had been done with the rooms. I called reception again and they said “what did I want them to do – it was a smoking room” I have not been so furious in my life. We could not change rooms as there were no adjoining rooms available. We hardly slept over the 3 night stay . By the time we left our skin stank of smoke and all clothes needed cleaning and dry cleaning. This was the worst experience of a 4 month trip. The hotel lied and deceived us. While they gave a rather insincere apology at checkout, nothing could have made up for the dreadful end to an otherwise fantastic world trip. DO NOT STAY AT METROPARK KOWLOON

Free shuttle bus service every 30min MongKok to ShimSatShiu and free in-room internet service or pay $15 HK for 10min use of their lobby computer(quite fast-no lad). Hotel is very clean and spacious, staff was very helpful with travel tips. Only con was their gym and swimming was closed for remodeling. Other than that, this hotel has the best value and location.

We stayed in the hotel from 12/3/07 to 12/8/07. The service was excellent. They had a shuttle to Mongkok every half hour. They even gave us a special ride with a private minivan to Mongkok when the first shuttle was full. I loved this extended service. This was arranged by the captain on the first floor of the hotel. I don't think any hotel will beat this kind of service. This hotel needs improvement on the foreign exchange section. There is none of this kind of service in this hotel. It is very inconvenient for tourists. They have to go to the bank to get the exchange. Another improvement is the voice message system. This hotel has no voice message system. The customers have to call the receptionist in order to get the message left by their friends. On the whole, this hotel is not bad.

I had just visited HK recently. Had a 2 night stay at this hotel and found that the counter staff are very rude to Asian expecially if you are chinese spoken. The room is fine but the swimming pools is quite small. But due to the bad service provided by counter staff during the check out. Basically I will not want to visit this hotel again. The staff really spoil my day during the check out, if you are an Asian, I will not recommend this to you. Nevertheless, there is still some friendly and helpful staff in this hotel.

Hotel is locatedat a good location, very convenient to many places specially walking. Hotel provide free services to several shopping locations at no charges which is rare in Hong Kong. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is the room is a little small.

stayed at the metropole for six days in sept/oct-2005.the food at the buffet meals for both breakfast and dinner were excellent.restuarant has a smoking alcove.the service in the restuarant was first class you could even talk to the manager and chefs and ask about any food you were unsure of. the sip sip bar did not open untill 5pm but drinks or beverages could be had at the coffee lounge.happy hour in the bar was from 6pm -9pm prices were a little high compared to the supermarket not that far away.the service in the bar was also excellent.three televisions in the bar. rooms were comfortable without being tooclassy free shuttle bus every half hour intoshopping areas. overall excellent hotel and would definetly go back.

it was fun!!! though so little time for so mny things to do and places to visit...this would definitely be on my wish list this christmas...hehehe
