WE LOVED IT
By Lola, 07/28/07
The hotel is amazing. There is a pool and many activites you can do. I went with my family and it was very fun. I recommend staying in a suite if you go with a lot of people

Giving Manners & Hockey a Bad Name
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/07
I'll echo what a million people have already written about this place....they cater to hockey tournaments (there is a rink next door) & kids run roughshod with no regard for anyone else. Running, yelling in the halls until 3 A.M. knocking on people's doors for fun, playing frisbee in the halls, unsupervised in the pool area. Management will do nothing when you complain. Apparently, this type of business is their meal ticket. What has happened to common decency & respect for others? I will never go back.

A great, quiet getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/24/04
I love Waterville Valley and the Golden Eagle. We thought we wanted to go further North to Loon / Lincoln or Bretton Woods / Mt Washington, or even to North COnway, but it's just a two hour drive, the last 20 minutes is beuatiful wilderness and there are just no crowds at all. The lodge is like a castle, or maybe an adirondack lodge at Lake Placid. The rooms are large suites. There are two fireplace in the 2-story lobby, with a roaring fire in one. It's nice to burn someones elses woood that they bring in for you. The ski shuttle pulls up in front every few monutes and a short walk out the back and across a small dam is a story book village with restaurants, shops and a small convenience store. It's like a Disney World version of the mountains. The people are friendly and there aren't lots of them ... the benefit of being at the end of the road. The lodge is beautiful and well-kept. You can't lose.

Golden Eagle Lodge -- perfect resort inn
By William, 03/12/04
The Golden Eagle Lodge is a beautiful lodge located in a great resort village. It lacks a restaurant, but it is across a foot bridge to the Village Square with several nice restaurants with reasonable prices.

The lodge itself is pretty, with a two story lobby and fireplaces, but the setting is even better. Waterville Valley is at 1500 feet surrounded by 4000 foot mountains in a bowl. There is only one entrance road, a ten mile trip up from ski93. So there is little no thru traffic and few passer-bys. It is quiet and beautiful like a colorado mountains ski village.

The rooms are all suites and the size is nice. There is a shuttle bus to the slopes running continuously. And, there are many special events, all ending when the sun goes down, except for the occasional concert on the weekend.

You'll love it if you want to get away from everything, while still being able to enjoy nature.
